This document provides instructions for the MyBabiie Bedside Crib, designed for infants aged 0 to 6 months, weighing up to a maximum of 9 kg. The crib is intended for use until the child can sit, kneel, or pull themselves up. It complies with EN 1130:2019 safety standards.
Function Description
The MyBabiie Bedside Crib serves as a safe sleeping area for infants, offering both standalone crib functionality and a co-sleeping mode. In co-sleeping mode, it can be securely attached to an adult's bed, allowing the infant to sleep close to their parents while maintaining a separate sleeping surface. The crib features adjustable height positions, allowing it to be adapted to different bed heights. It also includes a mechanism to slightly incline the crib base, though this feature is not to be used in co-sleeping mode.
Usage Features
General Crib Use:
- Assembly: The crib requires assembly, which involves attaching support bars to the side frame stands, clipping the bassinet into the frame, and inserting the bottom support bar. Velcro fasteners are used to secure the bassinet.
- Mattress: Only the mattress provided with the crib should be used. No additional mattresses or items (e.g., toys, pillows) should be placed inside the crib, as this could reduce its depth and pose a suffocation hazard. The maximum mattress thickness allowed is 50mm, and the vertical height from the mattress surface to the upper edge of the product's sides must be at least 200mm.
- Height Adjustment: The crib offers 7 different height positions. To adjust, press the button up or down and move the crib to the desired position. This operation must be repeated on the opposite side.
- Inclination: The crib base can be slightly inclined by setting the two legs to different heights. However, this feature is strictly prohibited when the crib is used in co-sleeping mode.
- Stability: Ensure all locking mechanisms are engaged and securely fixed before use. The product must always be used on a horizontal floor and should not be placed on a sloped surface with a child inside. When unsupervised, the crib should be locked in a fixed position.
- Safety Precautions:
- Always remove and dispose of all plastic bags and packaging materials before use, keeping them out of reach of children to avoid suffocation.
- Periodically check for loose, damaged, or missing parts. Do not use the crib if any parts are missing, damaged, or broken, and do not substitute parts from other manufacturers.
- All adjustments and anchoring operations must be carried out exclusively by an adult.
- Be aware of fire risks and other sources of strong heat (e.g., electric bar fires, gas fires) near the crib.
- Ensure all assembly fittings are tightened properly, and no screws are loose or zippers/buttons open, as these could trap parts of a child's body or clothing, posing a risk of strangulation.
- Do not place the product close to other items that could present a danger of suffocation or strangulation (e.g., strings, blind/curtain cords).
- Young children should not be allowed to play unsupervised near the product.
- Do not adjust or move the product when a child is inside.
- Do not use the product for more than one child at a time.
- Do not use the product without its frame.
- Avoid positioning the crib near walls and obstacles to prevent trapping hazards.
Co-Sleeping Mode:
- Conversion: After assembling the crib, it can be converted to co-sleeping mode by opening the guardrail. This involves unzipping the bassinet, pushing the spring buckle in the opposite direction, and lowering the tube.
- Attachment to Adult Bed: The crib must be securely attached to the adult bed using the provided attachment system (straps). The straps are fixed with a small buckle on the side of the crib and then connected to a large buckle, which should click into place. This process is repeated on both sides.
- Height Alignment: In co-sleeping mode, the two legs of the crib must always be adjusted to the same height. The crib's height should be checked against the adult bed's mattress.
- Safety Precautions for Co-Sleeping:
- The bedside sleeper should ONLY be used when securely attached to the adult's bed or when the drop side is in the fully raised position to prevent the child from falling.
- There must be no gaps between the product and the mattress of the parent's bed. If any gaps exist, DO NOT use the product.
- Do not fill any spaces or gaps between the parent's mattress and the crib with pillows, blankets, bedsheets, or any other material that could cause suffocation.
- The top rail of the crib on the side next to the adult's bed must not be higher than the adult bed mattress to avoid hazards from the child's neck being caught.
- Check the tightness of the attachment system before each use by pulling the bedside crib away from the adult bed.
- Keep the fastening belts out of reach of children and away from the crib to avoid strangulation risks.
- Do not use the bedside sleeper in an inclined position.
- The bedside crib is suitable for beds between 52-69 cm tall, measured from the floor to the upper surface of the mattress.
- Suitable adult beds for co-sleeping mode have mattresses, boxsprings, and frames aligned, with enough space between the bottom of the bed and the ground for the straps to pass through. Beds with misaligned mattresses, boxsprings, or frames, or those without space for straps, are not suitable.
- Wheels: The crib features four wheels with a locking function. Ensure all four wheels are locked before use, especially in co-sleeping mode.
