Overview

The LVM-125/250 is a universal micro inverter designed for emergency power equipment, providing a pure sinusoidal AC output. It automatically sets the output voltage equal to the input voltage and features auto-dimming (0-10V) for connected loads. This device is UL Listed (3KLH, E95719) and BC certified, indicating compliance with safety and performance standards.

Function Description:

The LVM-125/250 acts as an emergency power supply for various lighting fixtures, including LED, incandescent, fluorescent, and screw-base lamps. When normal AC power is available, the unit charges its internal battery. Upon an AC power failure, it automatically switches to emergency power, supplying the connected lighting load at its rated emergency power for a minimum of 90 minutes. Once AC power is restored, the system reverts to normal operation and resumes battery charging.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Input Voltage: Requires an unswitched AC power supply of 120-277V, 50/60Hz.
  • Output Voltage: Automatically matches the input voltage (e.g., 120V 60Hz, 230V 50Hz, 277V 60Hz).
  • Output Power (Emergency):
    • LVM-125: 125W
    • LVM-250: 250W
  • Operating Temperature (Ta): 0°C minimum, 50°C maximum.
  • Emergency Operating Time: Minimum 90 minutes.
  • Battery Type: Rechargeable Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery.
  • Charging Time:
    • LVM-125 (fully discharged): 12 hours
    • LVM-250 (fully discharged): 24 hours
  • Housing: Metallic, suitable for installation in air handling/plenum spaces.
  • Dimensions (L x W x H):
    • LVM-125: 292 [11.50] mm [inch] x 175 [6.89] mm [inch] x 85 [3.35] mm [inch]
    • LVM-250: 398 [15.67] mm [inch] x 175 [6.89] mm [inch] x 85 [3.35] mm [inch]
  • Weight:
    • LVM-125: 4.2 kg [9.24 lb]
    • LVM-250: 7.0 kg [15.4 lb]
  • Dimmable Load (0-10V system): Max. 750W.
  • Non-Dimmable Load: Max. 125W (LVM-125) / 250W (LVM-250).

Usage Features:

  • Auto-Setting Output Voltage: Simplifies installation by automatically matching the input AC voltage.
  • Auto-Dimming (0-10V): Integrates with 0-10V dimmable lighting systems, allowing for automatic dimming of connected loads during normal operation.
  • Versatile Compatibility: Supports LED, incandescent, fluorescent fixtures, and screw-base lamps for emergency operation.
  • Plenum Rated: Its metallic housing allows for installation in air handling/plenum spaces in accordance with the National Electric Code.
  • Grounding: Must be used with grounded, Listed, dry or damp location rated fixtures, and the case should be grounded.
  • Mounting Options: Supports surface mounting, and optional ceiling-grid mount and wall mount adaptors are available.
  • Safety Precautions: Emphasizes switching off mains power and disconnecting the battery switch until installation is complete to prevent electric shock. Disconnecting both normal and emergency power supplies is required before servicing.

Maintenance Features:

The LVM-125/250 incorporates an Auto Test feature to reduce the need for manual testing, ensuring the system's reliability.

  • LED Test Switch (LTS): An illuminated LTS indicates battery charging. It turns off during power failure and changes status to indicate testing mode or abnormal conditions.
    • LTS Slow Blinking: Normal Charging
    • LTS On: Battery Fully Charged - Normal Condition
    • LTS Off: Power Failure
    • LTS Gradual Change: In Testing Mode
    • LTS Quickly Blinking: Abnormal Condition - Corrective Action Required
  • Initial Auto Test: Performed automatically upon proper connection and power-on. If abnormal conditions exist, the LTS blinks quickly. The test restarts if abnormal conditions are corrected or if the connected dimmable loads' maximum power increases.
  • Preprogrammed Scheduled Auto Test:
    • Monthly Auto Test: Conducted after 24 hours to 7 days post-initial power-on, then every 30 days. Tests normal to emergency transfer, emergency, charging, and discharging conditions (approx. 60 seconds).
    • Annual Auto Test: Occurs every 52 weeks after the initial 24 hours full charge. Tests proper initial battery voltage, 90-minute emergency operation, and acceptable battery voltage at the end of the 90-minute test.
    • If an Auto Test is interrupted by a power failure, a full 90-minute Auto Test will occur 24 hours after power is restored. If the battery fully discharges due to power failure, the Initial Auto Test and Preprogrammed Scheduled Auto Test will restart.
  • Manual Test Capabilities:
    • Press LTS once for 10-second emergency mode simulation.
    • Press LTS twice continuously within 3 seconds for a 60-second monthly test.
    • Press LTS three times continuously within 3 seconds for a 90-minute annual test (requires 24 hours of prior charging).
    • Press and hold LTS for >3 seconds to restart Initial Auto Test.
    • Press and hold LTS for >3 seconds during any manual test to terminate it without affecting the scheduled Auto Test time.
  • Battery Recycling: The product contains a rechargeable Lithium Iron Phosphate battery, which must be recycled or disposed of properly.
