Overview

This document describes the MY283492 2-in-1 Air Cooler and Humidifier, a versatile appliance designed for domestic use. It combines the functions of an air cooler and a humidifier, aiming to improve indoor air quality and comfort.

Function Description

The MY283492 operates as both an air cooler and a humidifier. As an air cooler, it draws in ambient air, passes it over a wet curtain paper filter, and then expels cooler, moisturized air. The cooling effect can be enhanced by adding ice packs to the water tank, which helps to further lower the water temperature and, consequently, the temperature of the blown air. As a humidifier, it adds moisture to the air, which can be beneficial in dry environments. The appliance is designed to circulate fresh, clean air, especially when used near an open window or door.

Usage Features

The appliance is controlled via a user-friendly control panel located on the top of the unit.

  • ON/OFF button: This button is used to turn the device ON or OFF. It is important to ensure that the front louvers are open before switching on the air cooler.
  • SPEED button: This allows users to select between low, medium, or high fan speeds, tailoring the airflow to their preference.
  • COOL button: This function activates the cooling and humidifying operation. To use the COOL function, water must be added to the water tank. The COOL function helps increase the humidity of the room while decreasing the temperature. For enhanced cooling, users can add frozen ice cube packs to the water tank. When using the COOL function, the ON/OFF power button and OFF power button are switched off at the same time.
  • SWING button: Pressing this button causes the internal blades to oscillate left and right, distributing the air more widely. Pressing it again stops the oscillation.

Water Tank and Ice Pack Usage:

Adding water to the water tank is crucial for the cooling and humidifying functions. The unit has a water level window to monitor the water level. Water can be added in two ways:

  1. Bottom Tank Access: Release the side buckles to detach the air cooler body from the water tank. Use a container to fill the water tank up to the "MAX" level. Then, reattach the air cooler body and secure it with the side buckles.
  2. Top Compartment Access: For convenience, water can also be added to the upper water tank. Lift the top lid and pour water into the compartment, allowing it to flow into the bottom tank. Ensure the water level in the bottom tank does not exceed the "MAX" level.

Important Safety Warnings for Usage:

  • Always ensure the unit is switched off and unplugged from the power outlet before adding water or performing any maintenance.
  • When adding ice packs, leave the water level just below the "MAX" level to account for expansion.
  • Never activate the COOL function without water in the tank, as this can damage the water pump.
  • Do not move the unit when the COOL function is operating, as this may damage electrical components or cause serious injury.
  • Children should not play with the appliance and those under 3 years old should be continuously supervised. Children from 16 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities can operate the appliance only if supervised or instructed and understand the hazards. Children under 16 should not plug in, operate, regulate, clean, or perform user maintenance.
  • Use the appliance according to the voltage rating label.
  • Do not repair or mechanically alter the appliance; it should be repaired by a qualified person or returned to the distributor if faulty.
  • Do not operate the appliance with wet hands.
  • If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person.
  • Switch off and unplug the appliance when not in use.
  • Do not insert foreign objects into the air outlets and inlets, as this can damage the unit and be dangerous.
  • Do not use the appliance near combustible gas or any heat source.
  • Only use the appliance on a flat surface.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • The water level in the tank should never exceed the "MAX" indicator or fall below the "MIN" indicator during operation.
  • After adding water, do not tilt or knock over the appliance to prevent spillage.
  • Do not turn the appliance over. If it is knocked over with water, immediately turn it off, unplug it, and have it checked by a qualified person or return it for examination and repair.
  • Do not cover the air vents.
  • Do not place air outlets or inlets near walls, curtains, or other constricting environments.
  • Do not knock or shake the unit while in use, as this may cause it to stop automatically.
  • Change the water frequently to prevent odors.
  • Do not use the appliance near a bath, shower, swimming pool, or any other body of water.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the appliance operates efficiently and remains free from odors. Always ensure the unit is switched off and unplugged from the power outlet before performing any cleaning or maintenance.

  • Air Inlet Filter and Wet Water Curtain Cleaning:

    1. Unscrew the fixing screw located at the top of the air inlet filter using a screwdriver.
    2. Slide the filter up and away from the body to remove the air inlet filter.
    3. Remove the wet curtain paper filter.
    4. Clean the air filter and the wet curtain paper filter using neutral detergents and a soft brush, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
    5. Once cleaned, securely install the air filter and wet curtain paper filter back into place.
  • Water Tank Cleaning:

    • Wipe the inside of the water tank with a clean cloth. Mild detergents can be used. Remove any lime scale that may have built up. After cleaning, securely connect the water tank back to the air cooler.
