Technical Specifications

Overview

The Mylek 7-Day Programmable Timer Heater is an energy-efficient electric local space heater designed for various heating needs. It features an LCD screen and remote control for convenient operation and programming. The heater is available in several models with different wattages: MYRA600W, MYRA900W, MYRA1200W, and MYRA1500W.

Function Description:

This heater provides programmable heating with a digital, daily-programmable timer-thermostat. It can operate in two main modes: manual and automatic (programmed). In manual mode, users can select from Comfort, Economy, or Anti-freezing modes, each with pre-established and modifiable temperature settings. The automatic mode allows for individual programming of operating modes (comfort, economy, anti-icing, or standby) for each hour of the day, across all seven days of the week.

A key feature of the Mylek heater is its ErP Compliant sensor. This sensor detects sudden drops in room temperature, which could indicate an open window or draft. Upon detection, the heater temporarily switches off to save energy. Once a natural rise in room temperature is sensed (implying the window is closed or draft eliminated), the heater resumes operation, adjusting the display room temperature back to normal. This intelligent feature contributes to energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.

The heater also includes a consumption indicator on the LCD screen, which illuminates when the heater is actively consuming power. The temperature indicator displays both the ambient room temperature and the user-assigned temperature for the selected mode.

Important Technical Specifications:

The heater models vary in nominal heat output:

  • MYRA600W: Nominal heat output (Pnom) 0.60 kW, Minimum heat output (Pmin) 0.60 kW, Maximum continuous heat output (Pmax,c) 0.60 kW.
  • MYRA900W: Nominal heat output (Pnom) 0.90 kW, Minimum heat output (Pmin) 0.90 kW, Maximum continuous heat output (Pmax,c) 0.90 kW.
  • MYRA1200W: Nominal heat output (Pnom) 1.20 kW, Minimum heat output (Pmin) 1.20 kW, Maximum continuous heat output (Pmax,c) 1.20 kW.
  • MYRA1500W: Nominal heat output (Pnom) 1.50 kW, Minimum heat output (Pmin) 1.50 kW, Maximum continuous heat output (Pmax,c) 1.50 kW.

All models have a standby mode electricity consumption (eISB) of 0.00094 kW. The heater utilizes electronic room temperature control plus a day timer and a week timer. It includes room temperature control with open window detection.

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The heater can be installed on provided feet for freestanding use or wall-mounted using the included fixings. For wall mounting, specific safety distances must be observed: a minimum of 20 cm from the floor, 20 cm from the sides, 50 cm from an upper shelf, and 20 cm from any other object or wall. It must not be installed under or in front of a mains socket. If installed in a bathroom, it requires professional installation in volume 3 (as per Figure 2) and must be unreachable from the bath or shower.
  • Control Panel & Remote Control: The LCD screen lights up for ten seconds after a button press, then dims for energy saving. The heater can be programmed via the LCD control section or the remote control.
  • Locking/Unlocking: For child safety, the controls automatically lock after sixty seconds of inactivity in both manual and automatic modes. To unlock, press the "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously on the control panel for three seconds, or either button singly on the remote control.
  • Operating Instructions:
    1. Turn on the ON/OFF switch located at the bottom right side of the unit.
    2. The LCD screen will flash all symbols.
    3. The last operating mode (standby, manual, or automatic) and approximate room temperature will be displayed.
    4. From "Standby" mode, press the "Standby" button to switch the heater on.
  • Manual Use: Press the "PROG" key until the time bars disappear from the LCD screen. Then, select Comfort, Economy, or Anti-freezing mode by pressing the corresponding button. The heater will operate continuously in the selected mode at its programmed temperature.
  • Changing Temperature: In any manual mode, use the (-) or (+) buttons to adjust the desired temperature. The selected temperature will be saved and displayed for a few seconds before reverting to the ambient room temperature.
    • Comfort Mode: Recommended for comfortable temperatures when the room is occupied (default 21°C).
    • Economy Mode: Recommended for long absences or night-time use (default 17°C).
    • Anti-freezing Mode: Recommended for unused dwellings in extremely cold climates (default 5°C).
  • Automatic Use (Programmed):
    1. If in Standby, press the "Standby" button to turn on the heater.
    2. Press the "PROG" button for three seconds to set the current time (hour then minutes) using the (+) or (-) buttons.
    3. Program the current day of the week (1=Monday, 2=Tuesday, etc.) using the (+) or (-) buttons, then press "PROG".
    4. Program each hour of each day. For each hour, select the desired operating mode:
      • Comfort: One double bar and "Comfort" symbol.
      • Economy: One single upper bar and "Economy" symbol.
      • Anti-icing: One single bottom bar and "Anti-icing" symbol.
      • Standby (switch off): No bars displayed.
    5. Use the (+) or (-) buttons to select the time bar hour to set. The selected hour will flash. Repeat for all 24 hours.
    6. After programming all hours for a day, press "PROG" to move to the next day. Repeat until Sunday is programmed. Press "PROG" twice to confirm settings and display the current day and flashing hour.
  • Switching Off: Disconnect operation by pressing the "Standby" button. For permanent switch-off, use the ON/OFF switch at the bottom right side of the unit.
  • Power Cuts: In case of a power cut, the heater will resume its previous mode when power is restored, retaining temperature and program settings, but the clock and current day of the week will need to be reprogrammed.

Maintenance Features:

  • The heater requires no special maintenance.
  • Before each cold season or after prolonged inactivity, the heater should be cleaned.
  • Cleaning: Always ensure the heater is COLD and SWITCHED OFF before cleaning. Clean accumulated dust and dirt from outer surfaces and inside with a soft, dry cloth.
  • DO NOT use solvents, cleaning, or abrasive products.
  • Safety: Do NOT cover the heater or use it to dry clothes, as this poses a serious risk of overheating. The unit has a safety device that switches it off in case of overheating and automatically restarts when the problem is resolved. Repeated overheating may indicate a fault not covered by warranty.
  • Environmental Responsibilities: Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste. Use separate collection facilities. Contact local council for information on available collection systems. Old appliances should be returned to the retailer for free disposal.
  • PAT Testing: For workplace use, annual safety testing by a qualified electrician (PAT Tested) is required. Regular PAT testing is recommended for domestic use.

The Mylek heater is designed for efficient and user-friendly heating, with a focus on safety and environmental responsibility.
