Do you have a question about the Nac RLM1500G2-NG and is the answer not in the manual?
This document describes the NAC RLM1500G2-NG Robotic Lawn Mower, a device designed for automated lawn maintenance in residential settings. It includes operational instructions, safety guidelines, technical specifications, and warranty information.
The NAC RLM1500G2-NG is a robotic lawn mower designed to autonomously cut grass within a defined working area. It operates by following a boundary wire laid around the perimeter of the lawn. The robot is equipped with sensors to detect obstacles, changes in terrain, and rain, allowing it to navigate efficiently and safely. When its battery is low, it automatically returns to its docking station for recharging. The device is intended for amateur (hobby) use in residential gardens.
The device package includes the lawn mowing robot, a docking station, a rechargeable battery charger, screws for attaching the docking station, a ruler for measuring distance, push-in terminals, a 100m boundary wire with 150 stakes for fixing, cable connections, one set of cutting blades plus two spare sets, a user manual, an EC declaration of conformity, warranty conditions, and a warranty card.
The robot is designed for ease of use with both automatic and manual operation modes.
Installation and Setup: Before first use, users must define the working area by laying a boundary wire. The manual provides detailed instructions for this, including recommended distances from edges (35 cm from lawn edge, 10 cm from level adjacent surfaces, 35 cm from soft edges) and obstacles. Corners should be opened more than 90°, with an optimal angle of 135°. The boundary wire must be continuous and without crossings. The docking station should be placed on a solid, flat surface, at least 1m from the boundary wire of another robot (if applicable), and in a dry, roofed location away from low-lying areas, slopes, or tall trees. Grass in the working area should not be higher than 60 mm before initial setup.
Operation: The robot can be started in automatic or manual mode. In automatic mode, after initial setup of the mowing area, start time, and PIN code, the robot will leave the docking station, mow along the boundary wire, and then randomly mow the lawn until its battery reaches 20%. It then returns to the docking station to recharge. The work cycle is designed for 48 hours, including work, charging, and rest. The robot features a control board with a main switch, buttons for settings, value adjustment, and start/home functions, and an LCD display showing PIN code, clock, lawn area selection, and automatic mowing start time. A "STOP" button is prominently located for immediate cessation of operation. The robot also stops if lifted or knocked over, or if it encounters a slope exceeding 30° for more than 10 seconds.
Obstacle Detection and Safety: The robot is equipped with sensors to detect obstacles. If an unmarked obstacle is encountered, the robot changes direction. If it cannot find a different route within 3 seconds, the motor stops. If it cannot find a way around within 10 seconds, it shuts down completely, requiring a manual restart. A rain sensor ensures the robot returns to the docking station in unfavorable weather conditions, preventing operation in rain or high humidity.
Cutting Height Adjustment: The cutting height can be adjusted from 25-65 mm by turning a screw located under a flap on the upper part of the housing. Turning clockwise increases the grass height, while turning counter-clockwise lowers it.
Error Handling: The robot displays error messages (e.g., E1 for emergency shutdown, E2 for lifting sensor tripped, E3 for out of boundary wire range, E4 for broken boundary wire, E5 for collision sensor tripped, E6/E7 for engine power draw issues, E8 for mowing motor overload, E9 for loading error, E10 for battery over/under voltage, E12 for tilt sensor/wheel slip, E13 for battery overheating, F1/F2/F3/F4 for starting issues). Solutions typically involve restarting the robot on the boundary wire, checking connections, or removing obstacles.
Regular maintenance is crucial for the robot's longevity and reliable operation.
Cleaning: After each use, the device should be cleaned of grass remnants, dust, and dirt. This involves using a delicate brush or cloth, or compressed air for the housing. Metal parts should be protected with oil after cleaning. Air vents should be regularly cleaned with dry compressed air. The underside of the lawn mower and the docking station also require cleaning, especially after contact with wet or lush grass. Aggressive or corrosive detergents, water jets, and sharp objects should not be used for cleaning, as they can damage plastic or electrical components.
Blade Replacement: Cutting blades should be checked regularly (monthly) and replaced as they wear out. Before replacement, the lawnmower must be powered off, the battery removed, and protective gloves worn. Worn blades are removed by unscrewing them, and new blades are installed and tightened, ensuring they can rotate properly. Blade replacement is a paid service if performed by an Authorized NAC Service Center.
Battery Care: The battery is partially charged upon delivery and requires a full charge before first use. Several charging/discharging cycles are needed for the battery to reach full operational capacity. The battery may feel warm during charging, which is normal. The charger and power adapters are for indoor use in dry environments. Battery terminals should be secured with heavy-duty insulation tape before recycling. Users are warned against destroying, disconnecting, or removing battery components.
Storage: The lawn mower should be stored in a well-ventilated, dry, dust-free room. Any faults must be removed before storage.
Service and Warranty: The product comes with a 24-month warranty for consumers and a 12-month warranty for entrepreneurs. Warranty claims require proof of purchase and a valid warranty card from an Authorized Distributor of the NAC brand. Repairs for defects covered by the warranty are typically completed within 14 working days, extendable to 30 days in exceptional circumstances. The warranty does not cover damage from improper use, mechanical damage, unauthorized modifications, natural disasters, or normal wear and tear of consumables (e.g., V-belts, bulbs, filters, spark plugs, wheels, knives, trimmer heads, chains, cables, keys, overload pins). Maintenance activities (assembly, periodic service, adjustment, cleaning, oil/filter replacement) are not covered by the warranty and are performed for a fee. The device should be cleaned before being sent for repair.
