Do you have a question about the NCR 7606-K300 and is the answer not in the manual?
The RealPOS 82XRT Integration Tray Kit provides components for integrating displays, printers, and cash drawers with the RealPOS 80XRT terminal. This kit is available in two versions: 7606-K300 (Beige), 7606-K301 (Charcoal), and 7606-K303 (Black). If the 7606-K301 kit is used to convert a beige terminal to charcoal, the 7606-K306 Charcoal Front Bezel kit is also required. The Integration Tray offers flexible mounting options, allowing it to be placed on a tabletop, directly on the terminal, or on a cash drawer.
The kit includes various components for assembly and integration:
The assembly process begins by removing the terminal's cabinet. This involves disconnecting all cables, removing the bezel by turning the keylock to the unlocked position and pulling the top edge away from the chassis, and then loosening two thumbscrews to slide the top cover off.
Next, the integration components are assembled. The top cover is laid upside down, and the right and left cabinet extensions are attached with four screws each (8 lbf). It's important to install the screws with close tolerances first, followed by the second screws. The cabinet bottom is then positioned over the cabinet feet, aligning its ten slots with the hooks on the cabinet extensions. The cabinet bottom is slid towards the back to lock it in place and secured with two screws on the back end and four on the front end (8 lbf). Six adhesive-backed rubber bumpers are installed on the bottom of the cabinet extensions after cleaning the plastic surfaces with isopropyl alcohol. The tray support bracket is then positioned on top of the terminal and secured with four screws (8 lbf). Finally, the integration tray is placed on the tray support bracket and secured with four screws (8 lbf).
The chassis handle is installed onto the electronics sled by inserting one end into a slot on the chassis, spreading the other end, and inserting it into the other slot. The electronics sled is then slid into the cabinet. It is crucial not to tighten the thumbscrews at this stage to allow the sled to be pulled out for service. A caution is provided to tighten the thumbscrew before moving the terminal to prevent the sled from falling out. The bezel is replaced by turning the keylock to the unlocked position, inserting the hooks on the bottom edge into the chassis slots, pivoting the top of the bezel into position until it snaps, and then turning the keylock to the locked position.
If a keyboard is not used, the Integration Tray Plug should be inserted into the keyboard cable opening. Keyboard installation varies by model:
The NCR 7167, 7168, 7197, or 7198 printer can be placed on either side of the Integration Tray. For NCR 7167/7168 Release 1.0 printers, the Printer Cable Strain Relief must be removed from the printer (two screws) and installed on the Integration Tray, as it would prevent the printer from sitting properly. For Series II printers, the Cable Strain Relief should not be removed. The printer cable is connected to the USB and Power connectors. For Series II printers, the cable is routed through the Cable Strain Relief on the printer. For NCR 7197/7198 printers, the 7459-K316 Printer Skirt (Charcoal) or 7606-K313 (Black) is installed first, the cable is routed out the back of the terminal, and then the printer is set in the cabinet. For NCR 7167/7168 printers, the cable is routed through the Cable Strain Relief, and the printer is set in the cabinet.
Printers can connect via USB or RS-232 and receive power through a Powered USB cable.
The NCR 5964, 5954, and 5942 displays use the same mount. The 5954 is used as an example. The operator display can be installed on the right, left, front, or rear of the tray, considering overall terminal configuration for clearances. If there is no customer display, the recommended location for the operator display is the back position to minimize overhang. Four screws are removed from the back of the DynaKey and used to secure the Display Mount Back Plate. The Operator Display Base is secured to the Tray Support Bracket with four screws. Cables are routed through the Display Arm, excess slack is removed, and the Display Cover is installed. Cables are connected to the display, and the Display Back Plate is inserted into the Operator Display Arm. Finally, display cables are routed out the back of the cabinet.
The Customer Display Base is installed with four screws, with the post placed behind or in front of the Operator Display Arm. A Filler Cap is available for configurations without a customer display. Display cables are routed down through the Customer Display Base and out the back of the cabinet. The display is then inserted into the Customer Display Base.
The Left Swing Arm Skirt is installed first, followed by the Right Swing Arm Skirt, which is aligned with the Left and snapped into position.
Cables are secured to the Cabinet Bottom using cable ties looped through anchor positions. Sufficient slack should be left to allow the Motherboard Sled to be pulled approximately 1/3 out of the cabinet for memory additions without disconnecting cables. The Cable Cover hooks are then positioned over the studs on the Cabinet Extensions and snapped into place.
The Cash Drawer can be installed remotely or integrated with the terminal. It connects to the Cash Drawer connector on the terminal or to the transaction printer's Cash Drawer Kickout. The NCR 2181 Cash Drawer, with its smaller footprint, is required for integrated configurations.
The Cash Drawer can connect to the Cash Drawer connector on the terminal or the transaction printer. The terminal supports a 2-drawer configuration using a Y-cable (1416-C372-0006), which connects to the terminal or transaction printer cash drawer connector.
