Usage Features

Initial Setup

  • Included Accessories: The guide provides a checklist for all included items (base unit, keyboard, mouse, batteries, USB receiver, AC adapter, power cord, cable cover, User's Guide, Instructions For Safe Use). Users should verify the model and serial numbers.
  • Physical Installation: The unit should be installed on a solid, stable table. It can be secured to a wall using fixing brackets and a strong string to prevent overturning, especially during events like earthquakes.
  • Keyboard Setup: Attach the USB receiver to a USB connector. Install two AAA batteries in the keyboard, ensuring correct polarity.
  • Mouse Setup: Remove the bottom cover and install two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity and proper placement of the battery removal guide.
  • Power Connection: Connect the AC adapter to the DC connector on the back of the PC, then connect the power cord to the AC adapter and a power outlet. Hook the cable to prevent disconnection.
  • Cable Management: Use the cable cover to tidy up cables on the back of the unit.
  • Windows Setup: Upon first power-up, Windows setup is required. Users are advised to follow the manual's steps carefully, avoid connecting external peripherals or LAN cables during setup, and not turn off power. The process involves selecting region, keyboard layout, network connection (or skipping it), accepting the license agreement, creating a user account, setting a password, and configuring privacy settings.
  • BIOS Setup: If the setup screen is not displayed, users can access the BIOS setup utility by pressing F2 during power-on to set the time and date, load default factory settings, and then proceed with Windows setup.

Daily Operation

  • Indicator Lamps:
    • Voice activation lamp: Lit (on), Off (off).
    • Screen off lamp: Lit (screen off mode), Off (not in screen off mode). Lights up when an application starts the computer via network.
    • Internal drive access lamp: Lights up/flashes (reading/writing data), Off (not reading/writing data). Do not turn off power or remove discs when flashing/lit to prevent data damage.
    • Power lamp: Blue (on), Orange (sleep mode), Off (off).
  • Power Switch: Used to turn ON the PC and return from power saving mode. For shutdown, use the "Shutdown" option in Windows. Forcing power off by holding the switch for more than 4 seconds may delete data.
  • Wake-on-Voice: The Wake-on-Voice button switches voice activation ON/OFF. When ON, the computer can be activated by voice.
  • LCD Back Light Brightness Control: A dial adjusts display brightness (11 levels). Pressing the dial straight turns ON/OFF screen OFF mode.
