Why is my Newman Stove fire difficult to start or keeps going out?
- MMarie SpenceAug 1, 2025
The difficulty in starting or maintaining a fire in your Newman Stove can be due to several reasons: the wood being used is green, too damp, or of poor quality; the logs are too large; there's air starvation; or there's insufficient draught. To resolve this, use the recommended fuel, and light the fire with small, very dry twigs, maintaining it with split logs. Ensure you open the lower spin wheel and top air control lever. Also, check the flue for any obstructions and sweep if necessary.
