What to do if NewMar PT-24-45W Battery Charger status indicator shows charge but batteries not full?
    • A
      Antonio NewtonAug 1, 2025
If the NewMar Battery Charger's status indicator shows that the charger has shifted into a stage, but the batteries are not reaching full charge, here are a few possible causes and solutions: * The high-rate time-out circuit may have activated because the batteries are extremely discharged and require a longer recharge time. In this case, turn off all D.C. loads and allow the charger 24-48 hours to recharge the batteries. * The charger might be limiting its output due to an overload. Try reducing the D.C. load. * The charger output may not be properly connected to the batteries. Refer to the D.C. wiring section of this manual and verify compliance with instructions and diagrams.

What to do if NewMar PT-24-45W stays at 3 amps?
    • C
      Cynthia FletcherAug 12, 2025
If your NewMar Battery Charger continues to charge at 3 amps or more without tapering off, it might not necessarily indicate a problem. This can occur if a D.C. load is drawing current from the batteries. To verify if the charger will output minimal amperage to fully charged batteries, try shutting off all D.C. loads or turning off the main battery switch to the D.C. distribution panel. Also, a bad cell in one of the batteries to which the charger is connected could be the reason. Check for a shorted cell in all flooded type batteries. Refer to the manufacturer for testing maintenance-free batteries.
