  If your Newport Brass Water Heater isn't heating water, first ensure the unit is plugged into a properly grounded electrical outlet and that the outlet is switched on. Check the circuit breaker or fuses to confirm they're functioning correctly. Finally, turn the thermostat control dial fully clockwise. If boiling occurs accompanied by gurgling or sputtering, slightly turn the dial counterclockwise until it stops, then turn it an additional 1/8" counterclockwise. Wait 15 minutes to check the water temperature.
