This document describes the AS1505 Scan Reader Pen, an artificial intelligence hardware product designed to integrate multiple technologies for language translation and text processing. It combines speech recognition, OCR (optical character recognition), text scanning, and phonetic translation capabilities. The device is intended for various uses, including foreign language learning, business communication, and travel abroad, enabling smooth communication across different languages.
The Scan Reader Pen offers a comprehensive suite of features centered around language translation and text handling:
-
Text Translation: This core function allows users to scan text from documents and translate it into a desired language. It supports both online and offline scanning and recognition. Online translation is available for up to 55 languages, while offline translation supports 13 languages, including Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), English, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Filipino, Indonesian, Russian, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian, Czech, and Romanian. After scanning, the translated text is displayed on the screen and read aloud. Users can toggle between the original and translated text and add scanned content and translation results to a "Favorites" folder for later review.
-
Dictionary: The device includes a Collins Dictionary with two versions. Version 1 offers six dictionaries: Collins English Dictionary, Collins English→Spanish, Collins English→French, Collins English→German, Collins English→Italian, and FLTRP English→Chinese. Version 2 provides four dictionaries: Collins English Dictionary, Collins English→Japanese, Collins English→Arabic, and FLTRP English→Chinese. Users can access the dictionary by clicking the "Dictionary" icon on the main screen and selecting the desired dictionary.
-
Speech Translation: This feature facilitates real-time voice translation for up to 112 languages. It requires a Wi-Fi connection. Users press and hold the volume button (-) to speak into the device in the original language, then release it to hear the spoken content translated and read aloud in the target language. The device displays the recognized speech and its translation.
-
Photo Translation: Users can take photos of text, and the device will automatically recognize the words and translate them into the selected language. This is useful for translating text from images.
-
Text Scanner: This function allows users to extract text from documents by scanning them. The extracted text can be saved on the device or transferred to a PC. The device supports scanning in 55 online languages and 13 offline languages. It also offers a "simultaneous transmission" feature, where scanned text can be viewed on a computer by scanning a QR code or entering a URL.
-
Dyslexia Aid: Designed to assist users with dyslexia, this feature reads text word by word. Users can scan a sentence, and the device will read each word individually. Tapping any word will restart the reading from that point. It also allows users to click on a word to check its definition in the dictionary.
-
Recording: The device can record voice messages. Users initiate recording by tapping a red icon on the screen. Recorded files can be saved and managed within the device.
-
Favorites: This folder stores translation results from "Text Translation" and "Dictionary" that users have marked as favorites. Users can tap to read aloud or remove items from this list.
-
