Why are my NHP Circuit breakers nuisance tripping?
- DDennis WoodardAug 16, 2025
Nuisance tripping in NHP Circuit breakers, even when the rated current isn't reached, can occur due to several reasons: * Vibration or shock: Dampen the vibration of the MCCB and review the installation requirements. * High-frequency distortion: Decrease the distortion content of the load circuit. * Electromagnetic interference: Review nearby sources of conducted and radiated emissions, such as radio sources and high-speed switching devices. * Excessive surge: Isolate and mitigate the surge source, for example, using surge protection devices. * Control circuit errors: Verify the control wiring and supply to the SHT and UVT.
