“producttechnicalspecications”.
•Ifinanydoubtregardinginstallation,donotproceedandcontacttheNiceTech-

andgaragedoorsusingNicecontrolunits.CAUTION! – Any use other than as
described herein is to be considered improper and is strictly prohibited!
Thesystemsuppliesemergencypowertoanautomationintheeventofasudden
powerfailure.

Installandconnectthesystemwithreferencetotheinstructionmanualofthe
automationtowhichitistobeconnected.
ToconnectthePS524chargeunittothetwobatteries,referto g. 1:usethecable
withtheFastonconnectors(makesurethecablecoloursand+/-polarity ofthe
connectionsmatchasindicated(red +;black -).
ToconnectthePS524chargecardtothecontrolunit,refertog. 2:usethepro-
videdcable. Caution! - The cable is not polarised and therefore can be con-
nected to the connectors on either side.

Thefollowingchecksmustbeperformedimmediatelyafterconnectingthebuffer
batterytothecontrolunit.
1 on the charge unit: ensurethatled“L2”(g. 3)islit;thisindicatesthatthe
batteryissupplyingpowertothesystem.
On the Control unit: ensurethattheledsindicatecorrectoperationofthe
controlunit.
 Iftheresultisnotpositivethebatteriesareprobablycompletelydrained.At
thispoint,withtheautomationpoweredbythemains,performtheoperation
describedinpoint“2”.Important–Waitafewhoursbeforerepeatingthe
operationcheck.
2 Connecttheautomationtotheelectricalmainsandensurethatchargeunitled
“L1”(g. 3)islit;thisindicatesthatthebatteryisrechargingcorrectly.
3 RunacompleteOpeningorClosingmanoeuvreoftheautomationtoensure
correctoperationoftheentiresystemwhenpoweredbythemains.
4 Disconnecttheautomationfromthemainsandcheckthatchargeunitled“L2”
(g. 3)islit;thenrunatleastonecompleteOpeningandClosingmanoeuvre
oftheautomationtocheckthattheentiresystemoperatescorrectlywhen
poweredbythebatteriesalone.
5 Attheendoftheabovechecks,reconnecttheautomationtothepowermains.

DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT
This product constitutes an integral part of the automation system,
therefore it must be disposed of along with it.
Asininstallation,alsoattheendofproductlifetime,thedisassemblyandscrap-
pingoperationsmustbeperformedbyqualiedpersonnel.
Thisproductismadeupofdifferenttypesofmaterial,someofwhichcanbe
recycledwhileothersmustbedisposedof.Seekinformationontherecyclingand
disposalsystemsenvisagedbythelocalregulationsinyourareaforthisproduct
category.
Caution!–somepartsoftheproductmaycontainpollutantorhazardoussub-
stanceswhich,ifdisposedofintotheenvironment,maycauseseriousdamageto
theenvironmentorphysicalhealth.
Asindicatedbythesymbolontheleft,disposalofthisproduct
indomesticwasteisstrictlyprohibited.Separatethewasteinto
categoriesfordisposal,accordingtothemethodsenvisaged

PRODUCT MAINTENANCE
Thebufferbatterydoesnotrequiremaintenance,butintheeventofprolonged
disuse,disconnectfromtheautomationandstoreinadrylocation.
Replacementofbatteriesisrequiredwhenautonomyissignicantlyreduceddue
toage.Thisoperationmayonlybeperformedbyqualiedtechnicalpersonnel;
