On the Lens
The lenses you use with your Nikon
D40/D40x each have their own set of con-
trols. Figure 1.9 shows two lenses: the very
basic 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX
Zoom-Nikkor and the more upscale 18-
200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-
Nikkor vibration reduction lens. Not all
lenses have all the possible controls.
