Basimilus Iteritas Alter
Analog-inspired parameterized drum synthesizer
Basimilus Iteritas Alter is a parameterized digital drum synthesizer with its
roots in the analog world. At its heart, it is a simple six-oscillator additive
synthesizer with adjustable waveform, harmonic spread and decay. Adjustable
attack including a noise oscillator is also included. ese are summed and fed
into an innifolder for crunch and variety.
Basimilus Iteritas Alter is an improved version of Basimilus Iteritas. It is 2HP
smaller, includes CV of switches, adds an third mode, and pitch range and
knobs know offset rather than attenuate.

Summary

Interface Controls

Pitch Control

Adjusts the fundamental oscillator pitch and accepts 1V/8va CV input.

Decay Control

Adjusts decay for all oscillators; knob offsets the CV input.

Attack Control

Adjusts attack; noise left of center, slows attack right of center.

Morph Control

Controls waveform blending (sine, triangle, saw, square) for all oscillators.

Fold Control

Manages the infinifold section's threshold and adds fold stages.

Harmonic Control

Adjusts harmonic decay and amplitude, adding more harmonics as increased.

Spread Control

Varies oscillator spacing from harmonic to inharmonic overtone series.

Mode Selection (Skin;Liquid;Metal)

Selects between additive synth, pitch envelope, and FM synth modes.

Range Selection (Bass;Alto;Treble)

Offsets pitch by two or four octaves relative to the Bass setting.

Trigger Input

Initiates a drum sound start with a rising-edge trigger (~3V threshold).

Hit Switch

Allows manual triggering of the Basimilus Iteritas Alter.

Audio Output

Provides a low-impedance audio source with variable loudness.
