Important Technical Specifications

  • Helmet Design: Modern, high-performing product with emphasis on safety and comfort.
  • Ergonomics: Designed for comfort and ease of use.
  • Weight: Light weight for user comfort.
  • Aerodynamics: Optimized for reduced drag and stability.
  • Controls: Simple and functional for intuitive operation.
  • Chin-Guard Opening System: Features "Smart Lift" red levers for forward rotation and automatic opening. The right locking bolt (R) is different from the left one (L) in the visor mechanism.
  • Visor Mechanism: "Double Action" locking system to reinforce visor closure and prevent accidental opening. The system allows the visor to close automatically when the chin-guard is raised.
  • Inner Visor System (NFRS - Nolan Fog Resistant System): Utilizes Pinlock® patent license for anti-fog capabilities.
  • Comfort Padding: Removable and washable for hygiene (for versions equipped with removable inner padding).
  • Wind Protector: Optional accessory to improve helmet performance by preventing air infiltration under the chin.

Usage Features

  • Helmet Selection:
    • Size: To determine the correct size, try on helmets of various sizes and choose the one that fits firmly but comfortably. A helmet that is too large may slide down over the eyes or turn sideways while riding. It should be worn for a few minutes to ensure no pressure points cause pain or headache.
    • Taking off the helmet: With the helmet on and the strap fastened, try to take it off as shown in Figure A. The helmet should not rotate, move freely on the head, or slide off. If it does, adjust the strap length or change the helmet size and repeat the test.
  • Retention System (Strap):
    • The strap is factory-adjusted to a standard length; check for correct pre-adjustment before use.
    • Ensure the strap is properly fastened and tightened to keep the helmet firmly in place. Before riding, ensure the strap is well fastened under the chin, as close as possible to the throat, but without discomfort.
    • Correct strap tension should allow normal breathing and swallowing, without leaving space for a finger between the strap and throat.
    • Any Velcro or buttons on the strap are solely to prevent the end from flapping after proper fastening.
  • Chin-Guard Opening System:
    • Opening (without helmet on): Hold the helmet as shown in Figure 1. Push the two red opening levers forward with thumbs, or rotate the "Smart Lift" red lever forward; the Smart Lift system will automatically rotate the right lever forward. Pull the chin-guard forward (Figure 2) and guide its rotation upwards (Figure 2).
    • Opening (with helmet on, vehicle stopped): Wear and buckle the helmet. Open the visor. Push the two red opening levers forward with thumbs, or rotate the "Smart Lift" red lever forward; the Smart Lift system will automatically rotate the right lever forward (Figure 3). Pull the chin-guard forward and guide its rotation upwards. The visor will close automatically during this rotation (Figure 2).
    • Warning: Only using the right red lever will keep the other lever closed, preventing the chin-guard from opening.
    • Closing: Pull the chin-guard downwards and rotate until it snaps. Ensure it is correctly locked.
    • Warning: The chin-guard must remain closed and locked while the vehicle is moving.
  • Visor Mechanism - Double Action:
    • Disassembly: Remove cover plates A1 and A2 by gently pulling the upper part outwards (Figure 4). Unlock locking bolts B by gently pulling and rotating them from position 1 to position 2 (Figure 5). Remove bolts, ensuring not to lose the service springs inside. Remove the visor.
    • Assembly: Place the visor in the closed position on the closed helmet. Start from one side, ensuring the hooking tooth of the automatic visor recovery mechanism (C) is correctly engaged in the visor reference slot (D) (Figure 6). Insert locking bolt B and rotate it from position 2 to position 1 until its end is blocked by the fixing pivot (E) (Figure 5). Position plates A2 and A1 by placing the hooking splines in their seats and push gently until a click is heard.
    • Warning: The right locking bolt (R) is different from the left one (L). For proper functioning, the hooking tooth must be correctly inserted in the corresponding slot on the visor. Verify the system works correctly: open the visor; when raising the chin-guard, the visor must close automatically.
    • Double Action System: Close the visor and move the cursor on the left side of the helmet from position A (Unlock) to position B (Lock) (Figure 7) to activate. To unlock, open the visor in the usual way; the mechanism will automatically unlock and the cursor will move from B to A.
  • NFRS - Nolan Fog Resistant System (Inner Visor Assembly):
    • Assembly: Remove the main visor. Remove the protective film from the inner visor on the side in contact with the main visor. Ensure the inner surface of the main visor is clean. Rest one side of the inner visor on one of the main visor pins and hold it in position (Figure 13). Open the main visor and fasten the other side of the inner visor to the second pin (Figure 14). Release the main visor. Remove the second protective film from the inner visor. Check that both visors are tightly connected and do not move; if they do, adjust the spring pins using a screwdriver to set the adherence (Figure 15). Fit the visor in the helmet.
    • Disassembly: Remove the visor equipped with the inner visor. Widen the visor; the inner visor will come off automatically.
  • Wind Protector: This accessory improves helmet performance by preventing air infiltration under the chin area (Figure 16). It is easily removable; check correct assembly by gently pulling it towards the inner part of the helmet with thumb and forefinger.

Maintenance Features

  • General Maintenance:
    • Helmets that have suffered a violent impact (even if damage is not visible) must be replaced.
    • Do not modify or tamper with the helmet (even partially) for any reason.
    • Use only original accessories and spare parts suitable for your specific helmet model.
    • If in doubt about the helmet's integrity and safety, avoid using it and contact an authorized dealer for inspection.
  • Cleaning (Helmet and Visor):
    • Use only lukewarm water and mild soap to clean the helmet and visor.
    • Dry at room temperature, away from sunlight and/or heat sources.
    • Warning: Never use petrol, thinner, benzene, solvents, or other chemicals, as they can irreparably damage the helmet, modify optical properties, reduce mechanical properties, and weaken the visor's protective treatment.
  • Removable & Washable Comfort Padding:
    • Extraction: Undo the chin strap. Remove cheek pads by pulling their front end towards the inside of the helmet to unhook the rear button (Figure 8). Remove the left cheek pad by pulling the left chin strap out of its slot and releasing the roll-neck buttonhole from the rear snap button (Figure 9). Release the rear fixing flap on the left-hand side from its support in the inner shell by gently working the shell edge seal and pulling the comfort padding at the nape height towards the inside (Figure 10). Repeat for the central flap and rear right-hand flap. Release the left-hand side flap from its seat between the inner and outer shells by pulling the comfort padding towards the helmet inside (Figure 11). Repeat for the right-hand side flap. Release the front fixing flap on the left-hand side from its support in the inner shell by gently pulling the comfort padding towards the inside of the helmet (Figure 12). Repeat for the central flap and front right-hand flap. Extract the comfort padding from the helmet inside.
    • Fitting: Reverse the extraction steps. Insert the inner padding correctly into the helmet. Insert the front fixing flaps into the shell support by gently pushing the liner outwards (Figure 12). Insert the right-hand and left-hand side flaps into the inner comfort padding by pushing them between the inner and outer shells (Figure 11). Insert the left-front and right-hand padding rear flaps into the special support in the nape area (Figure 10) by gently working the shell edge seal and pushing until the locks click. Insert the band and the left chin strap into the special slot in the left cheek pad (Figure 9). Insert the rear flaps of the left cheek pad between the outer and inner shells; push the cheek pad towards the back of the helmet and insert the roll-neck snap button located on the back of the cheek pad into the slot. Then press the front part of the cheek pad to hook the snap button (Figure 8). Repeat for the right cheek pad.
    • Warning: Remove padding only for cleaning/washing. Never use the helmet without correctly and completely replaced inner comfort padding and cheek pads. Do not machine wash. Never use tools for these operations.
  • NFRS - Nolan Fog Resistant System (Inner Visor Maintenance):
    • Verify that the system has been assembled properly by pulling up and down the visor.
    • Scratched visors and inner visors can cause reduced visibility and must be changed.
