Overview

The Noria ECO pump is a variable speed pump designed for pool filtration, emphasizing energy efficiency, quiet operation, and durability. It is available in two models: ECO:100 and ECO:150.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Noria ECO pump is to circulate and filter pool water. Its variable speed capability allows users to adjust the pump's operating speed to match the specific demands of their pool, thereby optimizing energy consumption and reducing noise levels. When run at lower speeds, the pump can significantly decrease overall pool operating costs, potentially by up to 80%. The pump is designed to maintain crystal clear pool water efficiently.

Important Technical Specifications:

The Noria ECO pumps come in two models with distinct specifications:

  • ECO:100:

    • Width: 685mm
    • Height: 365mm
    • Flow rate (at 6-meter head): 360 litres/minute
    • Horsepower (Hp): 1
    • Watts (Maximum): 750 (975)
    • Pressure-Flow Performance:
      • 2850 RPM: Up to approximately 18 meters head at low flow, decreasing to 0 meters head at around 400 litres/minute.
      • 2400 RPM: Up to approximately 15 meters head at low flow, decreasing to 0 meters head at around 350 litres/minute.
      • 1500 RPM: Up to approximately 8 meters head at low flow, decreasing to 0 meters head at around 200 litres/minute.
  • ECO:150:

    • Width: 695mm
    • Height: 365mm
    • Flow rate (at 6-meter head): 450 litres/minute
    • Horsepower (Hp): 1.5
    • Watts (Maximum): 1100 (1400)
    • Pressure-Flow Performance:
      • 2850 RPM: Up to approximately 19 meters head at low flow, decreasing to 0 meters head at around 480 litres/minute.
      • 2400 RPM: Up to approximately 16 meters head at low flow, decreasing to 0 meters head at around 400 litres/minute.
      • 1500 RPM: Up to approximately 9 meters head at low flow, decreasing to 0 meters head at around 250 litres/minute.

General Technical Specifications:

  • Construction: Rigid, single-piece super tough and highly stable reinforced thermoplastic.
  • Shafts: Stainless steel.
  • Hair and Lint Pots: Larger capacity for reduced cleaning frequency.
  • Operating Head: Minimum 2 meters, maximum total head between 2-12 meters.
  • Water Temperature: Not to exceed 45°C.
  • Electrical Safety: Must be supplied by an isolating transformer or a residual current device (RCD) with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA.
  • Installation: Requires installation by a qualified service technician in a well-ventilated enclosure, resistant to flooding, and with at least 100mm spacing between the fan cowling and the enclosure wall for cooling.

Usage Features:

  • Variable Speed Operation: The pump offers three preset speed settings, indicated by colored buttons:
    • Green Button (ECO Mode): Recommended for daily filtration (6-8 hours) at the lowest efficient speed to maximize energy savings.
    • Pink Button (MEDIUM Mode): Designed for use with automatic suction cleaners, typically once a week.
    • Blue Button (HIGH Mode): Set to maximum speed for backwashing and manual vacuuming.
  • Adjustable Speed Mode: After a 5-minute priming period, users can fine-tune the speed of each mode. Pressing and holding the respective mode button for approximately 3 seconds switches to 'Adjustable Speed Mode'. Increments of 25 RPM can be made using dedicated buttons. The 'SET' button saves the current speed, and the 'Stop' button cancels changes. Holding all three mode buttons for 3 seconds resets speeds to default.
  • User-Friendly Design: Features easy-to-open inspection lids and barrel unions for convenience.
  • Automatic Priming: Upon power-up, the pump automatically runs in "priming" mode (full speed) for 3 minutes to self-prime. If priming fails after the second attempt, professional assistance is recommended to prevent mechanical seal damage.
  • Power Outage Memory: If power is removed, the motor will return to the last selected speed when power is restored. The ON/OFF state is also remembered.
  • Error Display: In case of a fault, the LED screen will display an error code, which should be noted and reported to a local agent.

Maintenance Features:

  • Basket Cleaning:
    1. Switch off power.
    2. Close inline valves.
    3. Unscrew lid locking ring and remove lid.
    4. Remove and empty the pump basket.
    5. Refit basket, lid, and tighten locking ring.
    6. Open inline valves.
    7. Switch on power.
  • Leak Detection and Repair:
    • Wet ground around the pump indicates a leak.
    • Check barrel unions for tightness and O-ring fitment.
    • If the pump lid leaks when off, ensure the O-ring is lubricated with silicone-based lubricant and fitted correctly.
    • Water around the base without visible leaks suggests a failed mechanical seal, requiring immediate professional attention to prevent motor damage.
  • Motor Care:
    • Ensure the motor area is well-ventilated, dry, and free of debris.
    • The motor has a thermal overload switch that will automatically reset after cooling if it overheats.
  • Seal Maintenance:
    • O-rings require occasional lubrication with a silicone-based lubricant. DO NOT use petroleum-based products as they damage O-rings.
    • The mechanical seal consists of a rotating seal and a stationary ceramic seat. Damage can occur if the pump runs without water flow, which may void the warranty.
    • Regularly monitor pool water level, empty skimmer and pump baskets, and clean the filter to protect the mechanical seal.
  • Operational Precaution: DO NOT operate the pump with inline or filter multiport valves closed.

Installation Guidelines:

  • Install on a hard surface (e.g., concrete slab or paver).
  • Ensure a well-ventilated enclosure resistant to flooding.
  • Maintain at least 100mm spacing between the fan cowling and enclosure walls for cooling.
  • Fit threaded nuts and tails to suction and discharge ports, ensuring O-rings are attached (40mm and 50mm supplied).
  • Plumb the suction side to the skimmer and the discharge side to the filter inlet, including any necessary valves.
  • Plug into an approved power supply.
  • DO NOT SWITCH ON immediately after plumbing. Allow a minimum of 2 hours for glue to set (8 hours for best results).
  • Use primer to clean pipes and fittings before gluing with Type P pressure glue for a quality join.

The Noria ECO pump is part of a connected product range designed for easy pool maintenance and readiness.
