Overview

The Normstahl ID07/C700 is an installation manual for an overhead sectional door operator and its associated control unit. This document provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, programming, and maintenance of the ID07 operator and the C700 control unit, ensuring safe and correct operation.

The ID07 operator is designed for use with overhead sectional doors, providing automated opening and closing functionality. It is crucial to ensure that the operator is correctly installed, balanced, and assembled according to the instructions to prevent damage and ensure proper functioning. The operator's design incorporates features to ensure safety and reliability, including specific requirements for the position of the operator relative to the door and the use of appropriate mounting hardware.

    • ID07 HD: 800 kg.
    • ID07 2H: 250 kg.
  • Temperature working range: -20 °C to +55 °C for all models.
  • Operating factor: ED = 30% for all models.
  • Mounting preparations: S3 10 min. intermittent for all models. When installing on the wall, an extra attachment angle is required.

Usage Features:

The ID07/C700 system offers a range of features for controlling and monitoring the door:

  • Disengaging Rope and Label: The manual details the assembly of the disengaging rope and label, which is critical for manual operation in case of power failure or emergency. This involves specific steps to ensure the rope is correctly routed and secured to the disengagement disc, allowing for manual release of the door. The disengaging label should be permanently adjacent to the disengaging balls, and the disengagement guide should be tested to ensure it operates against the pull in the rope.
  • Control Unit (C700): The C700 control unit is the central hub for managing the ID07 operator. It includes a basic PCB (K0479B1) with various connections for peripherals:
    • Main supply ID07
    • Radio
    • Photocells
    • Magnetic loop
    • Control ID07
    • IR, Traffic light Red
    • External relay box
    • Safety edge
    • External pulse buttons
    • Electrical lock
    • IR, Traffic light Green
    • Supply ID07
    • Locking
    • Radar
  • Light Curtain Functionality: The C700 control unit supports a light curtain (LG) via an additional card (1) connected to the C-card. The G Power module (2) is assembled on the rail in the Control unit. The light curtain is a crucial safety feature that prevents the door from closing if an object obstructs the infrared beams. The system performs a self-test of the light curtain's functionality, and the door will not close unless this test is successful.
  • Programming the C700: The manual provides detailed steps for programming the C700, including setting the torque, adjusting the opening and closing positions, and configuring various parameters.
    • Torque Setting: The torque setting is step 9 on the C700 control unit. The torque setting is displayed on the digital display.
    • Door Movement: The door can be moved by pressing the Up or Down button. For programming, the door should be in its closed position.
    • Reduced Opening: The system supports reduced opening, which can be set by adjusting the potentiometer T2.
    • Test and Adjustment: After programming, the system requires testing and adjustment to ensure proper operation and safety. This includes checking the safety stop, maximum force, and overall device operation.
  • Automatic Closing: The C700 allows for time settings for automatic closing. The delay time can be adjusted using potentiometer T1 (1 to 30 seconds) and T2 (1 to 900 seconds). The system also supports activation of automatic closing via DIP switch SW2.
  • Torque Adjustment after Installation: After installation, the torque can be adjusted by setting SW1 to the OFF position, placing the door in an intermediate position, and then setting SW2 to the ON position. The stop button is then held to adjust the torque.
  • Functions and DIP-switch Settings: The manual provides a table detailing the functions associated with each DIP-switch setting (S1:1 to S2:8) and their corresponding functions, such as service countdown, interlocking relay, traffic light control, safety edge activation, and automatic closing.
  • Service Indicating and Counter: The control unit includes a display that shows the number of cycles, service intervals, and various status indicators (e.g., safety edge active, photocell active, door opening/closing status, fire alarm, IoT active, autoclose active, magnetic lock unlocking, entered service menu).
  • Error Codes: The manual lists common error codes (E04, E09, E11, E15, E24) and their corresponding causes and solutions, such as safety switch error, mains voltage too low, operator clutch disengaged, door stopped due to over-current, and door out of position.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity and safe operation of the Normstahl ID07/C700 system.

  • General Maintenance: The light curtain optics should be located in the door guiding frame and require regular maintenance. This includes ensuring the optical elements are clean and free of dust. If necessary, clean the front surface with a soft towel.
  • Edge Maintenance: Make sure the edges are securely fastened.
  • Mounting Position and Connection: Check the mounting position, cable routing, and connection of the sensor.
  • Cleaning: Never use any solvents, cleaners, or mechanically abrasive towels or high-pressure water to clean the sensor. Avoid scratching the optical elements while cleaning.
  • Error Code Troubleshooting: The error codes list provides guidance for identifying and resolving common issues, facilitating efficient maintenance and repair. For example, if an E04 (Safety switch error) occurs, the user should examine the spiral cable and conduit for damage and ensure the conduit is connected to the bottom seal. For E09 (Mains voltage too low), the correct mains voltage supply to the control unit should be checked. For E11 (Operator clutch disengaged), the operator clutch needs to be re-engaged by pulling the red ball.

The Normstahl ID07/C700 system is designed for robust and reliable operation of overhead sectional doors, with a strong emphasis on safety and user-friendly programming and maintenance.
