Why is there fluid leaking from the top of the Norriseal Control Unit bonnet?
    • C
      clarkrobertJul 31, 2025
Fluid leakage from the top of the bonnet usually happens because the stem packing is worn or loose. For non-adjustable spring loaded packing: remove and replace packing. For adjustable packing: tighten adjusting nut(s) or add extra packing rings.

What to do if the Norriseal Control Unit has excessive trim leakage with the valve closed?
    • K
      kristaboydAug 4, 2025
If there's excessive trim leakage with the valve closed, try the following: * For reverse actuator - increase spring load. * For direct actuator - increase supply pressure to diaphragm. DO NOT exceed 55 psi supply pressure. Also, remove the actuator and bonnet from the body and inspect the trim, removing any foreign objects. Inspect critical surfaces of plug and seat. For minor wear or damage, lap seating surfaces. If severely worn or damaged, replace the plug and seat.

What to do if the Norriseal Control Unit leaks instrument air from the actuator vent connection?
    • Y
      Yvonne CohenAug 9, 2025
Instrument air leaks from the actuator vent connection usually occur because the diaphragm may be torn or ruptured, allowing air to leak through. Disassemble the upper and lower housing and inspect the diaphragm. Replace it if damaged.

What to do if there is fluid leakage from the body/bonnet joint of Norriseal Control Unit?
    • M
      Mrs. Marie HesterAug 13, 2025
Fluid leakage from the body/bonnet joint may be due to some or all bonnet studs being loose, or the body/bonnet gasket may be worn or damaged. Check the studs and nuts, tighten if necessary. Inspect the gasket, replace if necessary.

How to fix sticky or jerky valve stem movement in a Norriseal Control Unit?
    • J
      Jessica HoffmanAug 17, 2025
Sticky or jerky valve stem movement may be caused by a bent or misaligned valve stem or actuator stem. Disassemble the valve and/or actuator to inspect the stem. Replace it if bent or otherwise damaged.

How to resolve instrument air leaks from diaphragm housings on a Norriseal Control Unit?
    • J
      Johnathan KellerAug 22, 2025
Instrument air leaks from the outer edge of the diaphragm housings may be caused by loose cap screws securing the upper and lower housings. Inspect the cap screws, tighten as necessary.

How to troubleshoot a Norriseal Control Unit valve that won't cycle with instrument air?
    • T
      Todd CookAug 27, 2025
If the valve won't cycle when instrument air is applied, replace the stem. Remove the upper diaphragm housing and inspect the diaphragm, replacing it if necessary. Remove the upper diaphragm housing, inspect the plate-to-stem connection and tighten if loose. Clean out the vent fitting.
