Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot the Doorphone
If your Doorphone is not working
Check the wiring. Without a SAPS installed, the wiring must be equivalent to 300 m
of .5 mm wire (1000 ft of 24 AWG) or less.
With a SAPS installed, the distance can be increased to 780 m (2600 ft).
After connecting the Doorphone to the KSU station port, allow up to 4 minutes for
initialization.
Check that the Norstar port connecting the Doorphone is properly configured. See
the Norstar Configuration section of this document for proper configuration
parameters.
If your Doorphone does not cause ringing at the “Call DN” telephone when the Call
button is pressed:
• Ensure the
Call DN: XX
is a valid DN.
• Ensure
Rings: none
is not selected.
• Ensure that
Prime line: I/C
has is programmed for the Doorphone DN if this
option is offered with your KSU.
