THE NATURE OF HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS
The use of portable automotive lifting and support devices is subject to certain hazards that cannot be prevented by mechanical means, but only
by the exercise of intelligence, care, and common sense. It is therefore essential to have owners and personnel involved in the use and operation
of the equipment who are careful, competent, trained, and qualied in the safe operation of the equipment and its proper use. Examples of hazards
are dropping, tipping or slipping of loads caused primarily by improperly secured loads, overloading, off-centered loads, use on other than hard level
surfaces, and using equipment for a purpose for which it was not designed.
METHODS TO AVOID HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS
Read, study, understand and follow all instructions before operating this device.
Inspect the jack before each use. Do not use jack if damaged, altered, modied, in poor condition, leaking hydraulic uid, or unstable due to
loose or missing components. Make corrections before using.
Lift only on areas of the vehicle as specied by the vehicle manufacturer.

Center load on saddle. Be sure setup is stable before working on vehicle.
Do not move or dolly the vehicle while on the jack.
Do not use saddle adapters or saddle extenders between the stock lifting saddle and the load.
Do not use any adapters unless approved or supplied by PowerStation, LLC.
Always lower the jack slowly and carefully.
This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
Failure to heed these warnings may result in fatal personal injury and/or property damage.
CONSEQUENCES OF NOT AVOIDING HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS
Failure to read this manual completely and thoroughly, failure to understand its OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS, SAFETY WARNINGS,
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS and comply with them, and failure to comply with the METHODS TO AVOID HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS could

Overview

The device is a Model NSJ0302 3 Ton Capacity Aluminum Service Jack, designed for lifting automotive vehicles. It is a portable automotive lifting and support device that requires careful and competent operation.

Function Description:

The primary function of this device is to lift vehicles for maintenance or repair. It operates by pumping a handle to raise a lift arm, which then contacts and lifts the vehicle. Once the vehicle is lifted to the desired work height, it must be supported by jack stands before any work is performed. The jack is then used to slowly lower the vehicle onto the jack stands. After work is complete, the jack is used again to lift the vehicle off the jack stands, which are then removed, and the vehicle is slowly lowered to the ground.

Usage Features:

  • Setup:
    • The upper handle locks into the lower handle.
    • The handle is inserted into the handle socket, and the release valve fits into the receiver at the bottom of the handle.
    • The handle is secured by tightening the handle bolt.
    • Air purging procedure: If the pump feels spongy, or the jack doesn't reach maximum height, air can be purged from the hydraulic system. This involves retracting the lift arm, rotating the pump handle counterclockwise two full revolutions, pumping 15 full incremental strokes, then rotating the handle clockwise until it stops and pumping until the lift arm reaches maximum height. This process can be repeated until all air is purged.
  • Operation:
    • Before lifting, ensure the vehicle transmission is in park or gear and the emergency brake is applied.
    • Turn the handle clockwise until tight to raise the load.
    • Position the jack under the load, ensuring the saddle contacts the load firmly and is centered.
    • Pump the handle to raise the lift arm to the desired work height.
    • Place jack stands of appropriate capacity at the vehicle manufacturer's recommended support areas.
    • Slowly turn the jack handle counterclockwise to lower the load onto the jack stands.
    • To lower the load completely, first raise the load off the jack stands, remove the jack stands, then slowly turn the handle counterclockwise until the load is completely lowered to the ground.
    • Always keep hands and feet away from the hinge mechanism.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Read and understand the entire manual before operation.
    • Inspect the jack before each use for damage, alterations, or missing components.

    • Store the jack in a well-protected area, away from inclement weather, corrosive vapors, abrasive dust, or other harmful elements.
    • Clean the jack of water, snow, sand, or grit before using.
    • Lubricate periodically to prevent premature wear of parts. Apply general purpose grease to caster wheels, front axle, elevator arm, handle base pivot bolts, release mechanism, and other bearing surfaces.
    • Use hydraulic jack oil, a light turbine oil (e.g., Chevron AW ISO 32 or Unocal Unax AW 150). Do NOT use alcohol, hydraulic brake fluid, or transmission oil.
    • Keep jack labels clean and readable using a mild soap solution on external surfaces.
    • Inspect the jack before each use for cracks, breaks, bends, damage, hydraulic fluid leaks, loose or missing hardware, or modifications.
  • Regular Maintenance (Monthly or as needed):
    • Add grease to the lift arm pivot shaft grease fitting using a grease gun (multi-purpose NLGI type grease).
    • Lubricate all linkages and pivot points (white lithium spray grease).
    • Lubricate the handle receptacle and handle end (white lithium spray grease).
    • Lubricate both rear caster bearings and both front wheels (white lithium spray grease).
