Usage Features
Pergola Assembly:
- The pergola requires assembly and is designed for a soft/flat surface.
- It should not be assembled directly under trees or powerlines.
- Assembly should not be attempted in windy or wet conditions.
- The ground where the pergola is built should have at least a 1-2 degree decline to allow rainwater to drain away. If the pergola is built on a completely flat surface, rainwater will not drain away and the pergola will start leaking.
- Tools required for assembly include: Safety Gloves, Knife, Hammer, Screw Driver, Pencil, SDS Drill or Hammer Drill, Tape Measure, Ladder, and Spirit Level.
- The louvered roof can be adjusted using a handle to control sun exposure. The gearbox location can be positioned to suit the sun's rise and set, with a "TOP TIP" suggesting keeping the gearbox location as northerly as possible for optimum use.
- The louvres can be opened or closed by operating the handle. To open the shutter, turn the handle until the louver is facing vertically.
- The pergola needs to be anchored to the ground using expansion bolts (W) for concrete/steel ground or screws (R) for wood/grass ground. A drill bit (Z) is provided for ground drilling.
Privacy Screen Assembly:
- The privacy screen is an optional addition to the pergola.
- It attaches to the pergola legs and features a pull-down mechanism.
- The screen housing (A) clips onto the top panel (B) and is secured with screws (F).
- The right (C) and left (D) side panels are attached to the vertical pergola legs using self-drilling screws (E). The angled profile of the side panels needs to be aligned with the inner side of the pergola leg.
- The screen itself slides into plastic guide rails of parts C and D.
- The screen can be pulled down and lifted back up to adjust privacy.
Maintenance Features
Caring for your Pergola:
- Debris Removal: Debris can build up inside the gutters of the pergola. Regularly clean the gutters to allow rainwater to flow through.
- Object Placement: Never place any objects on top of the louvres.
- Weather Conditions: During snowfall and heavy winds, open the louvres into the vertical position to prevent damage.
- Operation in Frosty/Icy Conditions: Do not operate the roof mechanism during frosty and icy conditions.
- Cleaning: To clean, simply use a soft cloth that is damp with warm soapy water and wipe down. This material can be left outside all year round.
- Ground Stability: Regularly check that the Pergola is firmly fixed to the ground.
- Fixings: Regularly check that all fixings are secured within the Pergola.
