Usage Features

General Safety Instructions: Before operating the machine, users must read, understand, and follow all instructions. Always wear safety goggles, gloves, mask, ear protectors, and non-slip safety shoes. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that may be trapped in moving parts. Long hair must be tied back. Always work on a stable bench and keep the workspace securely clamped and clean. Ensure the power tool and its accessories are in good condition. Do not expose the power tool to rain or use in damp or wet locations. Keep the work area well lit. Do not use power tools in areas where there is a risk of explosion or fire from combustible materials, flammable liquids, paint, varnish, petrol, etc.

Assembly and Adjustments: The thicknesser should be placed on a stable workbench using 10mm hex nuts and bolts. The height adjustment handle (2) is used to set the desired planing thickness. The depth scale (4) provides a visual indication of the cut depth. Auxiliary support rollers (10) can be positioned correctly to support long workpieces. The feed and outfeed rollers must be adjusted to ensure smooth material flow.

Starting and Stopping: The machine is equipped with a "No Volts Switch" (5). To start, press the green ON button (5.1). To stop, press the red OFF button (5.2) or the emergency stop button (5.3). In the event of an emergency, pressing the emergency stop button (5.3) will immediately stop the machine.

Planing Operation: Before starting, ensure the machine is clean and free from debris. The maximum cut depth is 2.5 mm. For wider pieces of wood (over 19mm), it is recommended to make multiple passes with smaller cut depths. For pieces between 19mm and 254mm, the maximum cut depth is 2.5mm. For pieces shorter than 355mm, use auxiliary support rollers. Always use the push stick (17) when feeding small workpieces. Never insert fingers into the dust chute during operation.

Dust Extraction: The machine is equipped with a dust extraction port (13) to connect to an external dust collection system. This helps maintain a clean workspace and reduces airborne dust.

Maintenance Features

General Maintenance: Regularly inspect the power tool for any damage or wear. Check all components, especially the blades, for correct alignment and secure fastening. Do not use the machine if any part is damaged or worn. Always unplug the power tool before performing any maintenance or adjustments.

Blade Replacement (Pic. 7-10): The planer blades (14) are reversible and should be replaced when dull or damaged. To replace the blades, first disconnect the machine from the mains supply. Remove the six hexagonal screws (9) holding the top cover (1). Lift the top cover and remove the two hexagonal screws that fix the blade mounting plate. Carefully remove the old blades and install new ones, ensuring they are correctly seated. The blades must be replaced in pairs. Use the hex key (15) for this operation.

Carbon Brush Replacement (Pic. 11-12): The carbon brushes (12) should be replaced when worn. Disconnect the machine from the mains supply. Unscrew the brush caps and remove the old brushes. Insert new carbon brushes and secure the caps.

Belt Replacement (Pic. 13-15): The drive belt (16) is located behind the lateral cover on the side of the height adjustment handle. To replace it, remove the four hexagonal screws fixing the top cover (1). Lift the top cover together with both lateral covers. Remove the lifting pin and the planing group as much as possible to remove it from two worm screws. Remove the handle and extract the planing group from 4 cylindrical guides. Remove the small pulley by using side pressure and rotating the spindle at the same time. Install the new belt, ensuring it is correctly tensioned.

Cleaning: Keep the machine clean and free from dust and debris. Regularly clean the ventilation slots to prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or cloth to clean the machine. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.

Storage: Store the machine in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children and unauthorized persons.
