  • LP Cylinder Compatibility: Uses a standard 20 lb. propane cylinder (approximately 12.2 in. / 31cm in diameter and 17.9 in. / 45.5cm high).
  • Gas Supply System: Designed for propane vapor withdrawal supply system.
  • Maximum Inlet Gas Supply Pressure: 250 psi / 1750 kPa.
  • Minimum Inlet Gas Supply Pressure: 25 psi / 175 kPa.
  • Manifold Pressure (with regulator provided): 11 inch W.C / 2.74 kPa.

  • Assembly Time: Estimated 60 minutes.
  • Tools Required (not included): Phillips screwdriver w/ medium blade, Leak Detection Solution.

Usage Features:

  • Outdoor Use Only: This appliance is strictly for outdoor use in well-ventilated spaces. It must never be used inside a house, garage, camper, tent, car, or any other unventilated or enclosed area due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
  • Clearances: Maintain minimum clearances from combustible materials: 3 feet from the sides and 3 feet from the top.
  • Ignition System: Equipped with a pilot light for safer startups and shutdowns. The pilot must be lit before the main burner can be started.
  • Variable Heat Control: Features a control knob to adjust the heat output from "LOW" to "HIGH."
  • Flame Visibility: The pyramid design incorporates a glass tube that allows the flame to be visible, enhancing the aesthetic appeal.
  • Propane Cylinder Connection: The heater connects to a standard 20 lb. propane cylinder via a hose and regulator assembly. The cylinder must be constructed and marked in accordance with DOT or CAN/CSA-B339 specifications, have a listed overfilling prevention device, and a connection device compatible with the appliance.
  • Leak Check Procedure: Before initial use and whenever gas connections are loosened or removed, a leak check must be performed outdoors using a soapy water solution. Never use a flame for leak testing.
  • Lighting Instructions:
    1. Turn the control knob to the "OFF" position.
    2. Fully open the LP cylinder valve.
    3. Push the control knob in and rotate to the "PILOT" position. Hold for 2 minutes for initial start or after cylinder change to purge air.
    4. Push and release the igniter button until the pilot flame is visible.
    5. Once the pilot is lit, continue to depress the control knob for 30 seconds.
    6. If the pilot does not stay lit, repeat steps 4-6. If it still doesn't light, use a long stem lighter through the glass tube to light the pilot while depressing the control knob.
    7. Once the pilot is stable, push in and turn the control knob to "HIGH."
    8. For lower temperature, push in and turn counterclockwise to "LOW."
  • Shut Down Procedure:
    1. Turn the control knob clockwise to "PILOT." The burner will extinguish, but the pilot will remain ON.
    2. To extinguish the pilot, depress the control knob and continue to turn it clockwise to "OFF."
    3. Turn the cylinder valve clockwise to "OFF" and disconnect the regulator when the heater is not in use.
  • Flame Characteristics: In normal operation, the flame height should be approximately 2/3 of the glass tube height at "HI" position and 1/3 at "LOW" position. The flame should be stable and bright with no noise or black smoke.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Carbon Monoxide Hazard: This appliance produces carbon monoxide, which is odorless and can be fatal. Use only outdoors.
    • Explosion - Fire Hazard: Do not store propane near high heat, open flames, or where temperatures exceed 120°F (49°C). Propane vapors are heavier than air and can accumulate in low places. Never install or remove the propane cylinder while the heater is hot or lighted.
    • Burn Hazard: Surfaces become red hot during use. Never leave the heater unattended when hot or in use. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
    • Flammable Materials: Keep gasoline and other flammable liquids and vapors well away from the heater. Do not hang clothing or other flammable materials from or near the heater.
    • Propane Gas Safety: Propane is invisible, odorless, and flammable. An odorant is added to help detect leaks, but it can fade. Always turn off propane when not in use. Store cylinders outdoors in a well-ventilated space, out of reach of children, and disconnected from the appliance.
    • California Proposition 65 Warning: Combustion by-products from this product contain chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Inspection: The heater should be inspected before each use and annually by a qualified service person. More frequent cleaning may be required as necessary.
  • Hose Assembly Inspection: Visually check the hose assembly for evidence of excessive abrasion, cuts, or wear. Suspected areas should be leak tested. Replace the hose assembly if it leaks, using only manufacturer-specified replacements.
  • Cleaning:
    • Keep exterior surfaces clean with warm soapy water. Avoid flammable or corrosive cleaning agents.
    • Keep the area around the burner and pilot assembly dry. Do not submerge the control valve assembly.
    • Keep the appliance area clear and free from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors and liquids.
    • Ensure the flow of combustion and ventilation air is unobstructed.
    • Keep the ventilation opening(s) of the cylinder enclosure free and clear from debris.
    • Keep controls, burner, and circulating air passageways clean.
    • Clean burner holes with a heavy-duty pipe cleaner or compressed air to remove spiders, insects, or other blockages.
    • Clean dome and burner screen with warm soapy water if carbon deposits develop.
  • Corrosion Prevention: In salt-air environments, check for corroded areas frequently and repair promptly. High-quality automobile wax can be used on exterior surfaces (from the pole down, not on the emitter screen or domes) to maintain appearance.
  • Storage:
    • Between uses: Turn the control knob OFF, disconnect the LP source. Store the heater upright in an area sheltered from direct contact with inclement weather. Cover the heater to protect exterior surfaces and prevent build-up in air passages. Wait until the heater is cool before covering.
    • During extended inactivity or transport: Turn the control knob OFF, disconnect the LP source, and move to a secure, well-ventilated outdoor location. Never leave the LP cylinder exposed to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
  • Service: Only a qualified service person should repair gas passages and associated components. Always allow the heater to cool before attempting service.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: Provides solutions for common issues such as the burner not lighting, low burner flame, carbon build-up, and thick black smoke.
