Overview

The NuvoMed Desktop Air Purifier (Item: 385408) is designed to improve indoor air quality by removing various airborne impurities and odors. This compact appliance features a HEPA and Active Carbon Filter system, making it suitable for household use.

Function Description:

The primary function of this desktop air purifier is to clean the air in your living space. It utilizes a multi-stage filtration system:

  • HEPA Filter: This filter is highly effective at removing 99% of common air impurities such as dust, pollen, smoke particles, bad smells, mold spores, and pet dander. It's particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from allergies or stuffy noses, as it helps create a healthier and safer environment by reducing airborne allergens and pollutants.
  • Active Carbon Filter: Working in conjunction with the HEPA filter, the advanced active carbon filter targets and removes specific contaminants like cigarette smoke, bacteria, viruses, toxic gases, and persistent bad odors.

The purifier operates with a super quiet motor and offers three fan speed settings (medium, fast, low) to suit different needs and preferences. It also includes a sleep mode for quiet operation during rest periods and a child safety lock to prevent unintended use by children. A filter replacement indicator alerts users when it's time to change the filter, ensuring continuous optimal performance.

Maintenance Features:

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of the air purifier.

  • Cleaning the Surface: The external surface of the housing should be cleaned with a soft cloth after turning off and unplugging the appliance. Do not use water, any other liquid, or flammable detergents for cleaning to avoid electric shock or fire hazards.
  • Filter Maintenance and Replacement:
    • To extend filter life, the filter should be periodically exposed to sunlight. This helps release harmful gases and odors and kills bacteria.
    • Avoid placing the filter near high temperatures to prevent disfiguration or fire.
    • Only use original NuvoMed filters specifically designed for this appliance.
    • Filter Replacement Procedure:
      1. Turn off and unplug the unit from the power source.
      2. Remove the bottom cover by turning it anti-clockwise.
      3. Remove the old HEPA & Active Carbon Filter.
      4. Insert a new filter.
      5. Replace the bottom cover and secure it by turning it clockwise until a click sound is heard.
    • Replacement Frequency: The HEPA & Active Carbon Filter should be replaced every 6-9 months, depending on usage. New filters can be purchased from www.nuvomed.us.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the unit not powering on, excessive noise, poor purifying effect, abnormal smells, or improper filter fit, along with possible causes and solutions. For instance, if the purifying effect is poor, it might be due to a missing filter, the device being placed in a small or blocked space, or a filter needing replacement. If there's an abnormal smell, it could indicate a need to change the filter or open a window to air out the room.

Safety Precautions:

The manual emphasizes several safety precautions, including ensuring the correct voltage, not using a damaged appliance, proper placement to avoid blocking air inlets/outlets, and avoiding the insertion of foreign objects. It also highlights that the appliance is not a substitute for proper ventilation or an extractor hood during cooking and should not be used with flammable materials or in wet environments. The appliance features a polarized plug to reduce the risk of electric shock.
