Overview

The NUX Mighty Bass 50BT is a versatile practice bass amplifier designed for bass players, offering a comprehensive set of features for both practice and performance. This compact and portable amplifier is equipped with a premium 6.5-inch loudspeaker and is powered by a 50-watt classic D power amp, making it suitable for various settings, from bedroom practice at low volumes to small club performances using its DI out.

At its core, the Mighty Bass 50BT leverages NUX's iconic TSAC modeling technology, providing a wide array of great-sounding amp models and essential effects. This technology ensures excellent playability and response, allowing bassists to explore diverse tonal possibilities. The inclusion of Impulse Response (IR) technology further expands the sound choices by offering various cab simulations, and users can even import third-party IR files to customize their sound.

For bassists who enjoy practicing with drums, the Mighty Bass 50BT integrates a drum function accessible via the Mighty AMP application. This feature allows users to engage in drum and bass practice, enhancing their rhythm and timing. Additionally, the amplifier supports phrase looping, which can be recorded using the optional NMP-2 foot switch, providing a valuable tool for developing musical ideas and practicing complex passages.

The control panel of the Mighty Bass 50BT is intuitively designed, featuring a POWER SWITCH to turn the amplifier on or off, accompanied by a POWER INDICATOR that illuminates when the unit is active. An INPUT JACK allows for connecting a bass guitar with a 1/4-inch cable. For silent practice, a PHONE OUT (1/8-inch jack) is provided, with the signal mirroring the AMP OUT. The IR switch can be toggled to apply cab IRs to the headphone output. An AUX IN (1/8-inch jack) facilitates connecting external audio players like MP3 players for playback.

The amplifier offers three channels, selectable via the CHANNEL SWITCH & INDICATOR, which cycles through Green (CH1), Orange (CH2), and Red (CH3). Each channel can store all parameter settings and signal block statuses (engaged/disengaged) as a preset. The GAIN knob controls the gain (distortion) of the amp models. BASS, MIDDLE, and TREBLE knobs adjust the low, mid, and high-frequency levels, respectively. A MIDDLE FREQUENCY knob further refines the middle frequency range.

The EFX INDICATOR illuminates when an effect block is engaged, and PARAMETER 1 and PARAMETER 2 knobs control the specific parameters of the selected EFX model. The available effects include K Comp, Rose Comp, Touch Wah, Uni Vibe, Phase 100, RC Boost, TScream, and Muff, each with adjustable parameters like Sustain, Level, Wow, Sense, Rate, Depth, Intensity, Speed, Gain, Vol, Drive, and Volume. A DECAY knob controls the length of the reverb effect, while a LEVEL knob adjusts the mix level of the reverb. The MASTER knob controls the overall volume of the power amp.

The LOOP INDICATOR displays the status of the phrase loop function: RED for record, GREEN for play, and ORANGE for dub. The BLUETOOTH INDICATOR lights up when the amp is connected to a mobile device for Bluetooth audio streaming, and flashes when no connection is established. For APP connection, users need to open the Mighty AMP APP, select "Mighty Bass" as the current amp in settings, scan for devices, and connect to "Mighty Bass 50BT" to tweak parameters from their mobile phone.

The rear panel includes a DC POWER JACK for connecting the original power adapter. A USB PORT allows for connection to a computer for using edit software, firmware updates, and USB recording interface functionality. Firmware update instructions and the latest firmware can be downloaded from the product page. A DI OUT provides a balanced signal for interfacing with a PA system or audio interface. The GROUND LIFT TOGGLE SWITCH helps resolve ground noise issues when connecting to a PA system.

IR TOGGLE SWITCHES are available for independently engaging Cabinet Impulse Response signals. The DI toggle switch is related to the DI OUT, while the AMP toggle switch is related to the AMP output. A FOOT SWITCH JACK allows connection of the NUX NMP-2 foot switch, where the TIP (B foot switch) triggers the LOOP function and the RING (A foot switch) triggers the DRUM function. The loop footswitch controls include Press Once for REC/PLAY/OVERDUB, Hold for PLAY UNDO/REDO, Press Twice for STOP, and Press & Hold for CLEAR. The rhythm footswitch controls include Press Once for PLAY/STOP.

Maintenance involves ensuring the use of the provided power adapter and avoiding exposure to rain or moisture. The device complies with FCC rules, and any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. It is recommended to consult the dealer or an experienced technician for any service or repair needs. The product is designed for an environmentally friendly use period of 10 years in China, provided it is used correctly according to the manual.
