GETTING STARTED

Determine 24VAC Common Wire Requirement

Check if your thermostat system uses a 24VAC Common Wire for power supply.

STEP 1 REMOVE OLD THERMOSTAT

Turn Off HVAC Power and Verify Voltage

Switch off HVAC power, then use a voltmeter to confirm no voltage at the thermostat terminals.

Label Wires Before Disconnecting

Label each wire according to its terminal connection before removing the old thermostat.

Disconnect and Remove Old Thermostat

Loosen terminal screws to disconnect wires, then remove the wall plate and thermostat.

STEP 2 INSTALL POWERSHIFT SMART THERMOSTAT

Mount the PowerShift Wall Plate

Attach the thermostat base plate to the wall, ensuring wires pass through the center opening.

Connect Wires to Terminals

Insert and tighten wires into matching terminals on the wall plate, following labeling from Step 1.

Attach Thermostat Faceplate

Snap the thermostat faceplate onto the wallplate after connecting wires and ensuring proper fit.

STEP 3 CONNECT POWERSHIFT GATEWAY

Connect Gateway to Router and Power

Connect the gateway to your router via Ethernet and to a power source using the provided adapter.

Gateway Startup Sequence

Observe the gateway's LEDs; they will gradually turn solid green after initial power-up.

STEP 4 CHECK HVAC & TEST THERMOSTAT

Verify Thermostat Power and Functionality

Check the thermostat display. If no power, verify breaker and wire connections to RC/RH and C terminals.

Test Cooling Mode

Set thermostat to Cool, lower setpoint, and verify cool air output. Avoid testing below 50°F.

Test Heating Mode

Set thermostat to Heat, raise setpoint, and verify warm air output.
