Overview

The Oakcastle HIFI100 Slim Micro Hifi Stereo System is a versatile audio device designed to provide a comprehensive listening experience through various modes, including CD/MP3 CD playback, FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and an auxiliary input. It features both top-view controls and a remote control for convenient operation.

Function Description:

The HIFI100 serves as a compact home audio system, capable of playing traditional CDs and MP3 CDs, receiving FM radio broadcasts, streaming audio wirelessly via Bluetooth, and connecting to external audio devices through an auxiliary input. It also includes an alarm clock function, allowing users to wake up to a beeping alarm, CD music, or a radio station. Sleep and snooze functions are integrated for added convenience.

Usage Features:

Power On/Off and Standby Mode:

When first plugged in, the unit enters standby mode, indicated by a flashing "00:00" on the LED display. To turn the unit ON from standby, press the POWER/STANDBY button on either the main unit or the remote control. The last selected source icon will appear. To turn the unit OFF (back to standby mode), press the POWER/STANDBY button again; the LED display will dim and show the current time.

Setting the Clock:

In standby mode, press and hold the CLOCK button on the main unit or remote control. The unit defaults to a 24-hour format ("24 H"). To switch between 24-hour and 12-hour ("12-H") modes, tap the SKIP PREVIOUS (◄) or SKIP NEXT (►|) button. Once the desired format is selected, press the CLOCK button to confirm. The hour digit will flash. Use the SKIP PREVIOUS (◄) or SKIP NEXT (►|) buttons to adjust the hour, pressing and holding for fast advance/reverse. Ensure the correct AM/PM time is selected in 12-hour mode. Press CLOCK to confirm the hour, and the minute digits will flash. Adjust minutes using the SKIP PREVIOUS (◄) or SKIP NEXT (►|) buttons, then press CLOCK to complete the time setting. If power is interrupted, the clock will need to be reset. To check the current time in Power ON mode (remote control only), tap the CLOCK button; the time will display for 3 seconds before returning to the previous screen.

Alarm Operation (Remote Control Only):

To set the alarm, press and hold the ALARM button on the remote control in standby mode. The hour digits will flash. Alternatively, tap the ALARM button to directly enter alarm time setting. Use the SKIP PREVIOUS (◄) or SKIP NEXT (►|) buttons to set the hour, then press ALARM to confirm. The minute digits will flash. Adjust minutes using the SKIP PREVIOUS (◄) or SKIP NEXT (►|) buttons, then press ALARM to confirm. The alarm wake-up source will appear. Use the SKIP PREVIOUS (◄) or SKIP NEXT (►|) buttons to select between Beep (buzz), CD, or FM (RADIO), then press ALARM to finish. The PM indicator "P" or AM indicator "A" will light up next to the hour digits to show the selected time of day. If "Wake to CD" is chosen but no CD is inserted, the alarm will default to the beeping alarm. For "Wake to Radio," the system will use the last listened-to radio station. To activate the alarm, tap the ALARM button once; the alarm icon will appear on the LED display. To cancel, tap ALARM again until the icon disappears. When the alarm sounds, pressing the POWER/STANDBY button will stop it for the day. To cancel the following day's alarm, tap the ALARM button once.

Radio Operation:

From standby mode, press the POWER/STANDBY button to turn the unit ON. Tap the MODE button to select FM Radio mode; the FM channel frequency will show on the LED display. To manually tune, repeatedly tap the SKIP PREVIOUS (◄) or SKIP NEXT (►|) buttons on the main unit or TUNE+ or TUNE- buttons on the remote control. For automatic tuning, press and hold the SKIP PREVIOUS (◄) or SKIP NEXT (►|) buttons for 1-2 seconds until the frequency scans; it will stop at the next strong station. Adjust volume using the VOLUME+/- buttons. For FM & FM-Stereo Reception, press the FM ST. button on the remote control or main unit to switch between stereo and mono modes. The "ST" icon will appear for stereo. Mono mode is preferable for weak stations. For best FM reception, fully unwrap and extend the FM wire antenna at the back of the unit. To preset radio stations, turn the unit ON. Select FM radio mode. Tune to the desired station. Press and hold the PRESET/MEMORY button on the main unit or tap MEMORY on the remote control; "P01" will flash, and "PROG" will show. Use the P+ or P- buttons on the remote control to select a preset number, then tap MEMORY to confirm. Repeat for up to 30 FM stations. To recall presets, tap the PRESET/MEMORY button on the main unit and use SKIP PREVIOUS (◄) or SKIP NEXT (►|) buttons, or use P+ or P- buttons on the remote control.

To pause, press PLAY/PAUSE (►||); the elapsed timer will pause, and the pause icon will show. Press PLAY/PAUSE again to resume. To skip tracks, press SKIP NEXT (►|) or SKIP PREVIOUS (◄) buttons. To cancel the program, press STOP (■) twice; "PROG" will disappear.

Bluetooth Operation:

From standby, press POWER/STANDBY to turn ON. Tap MODE to select Bluetooth mode; "PAIRING" will run on the LED display, indicating search mode. If the HIFI100 has not been paired before or cannot find the last paired device, "PAIRING" will continue to run. To pair:

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your device and search for "Oakcastle HIFI100."
  2. Select "Oakcastle HIFI100" from the device list. If prompted, enter "0000" as the passcode. Once paired, "BT AUDIO" will show steadily. You can now stream music wirelessly. Plug one end into the HIFI100's AUDIO IN JACK and the other into your external device's Line-out or Headphone Jack. Turn on both the HIFI100 and the external device. Tap the MODE button to select AUX mode; "AUDIO IN" will turn on, and the current time will display. Volume can be controlled via the HIFI100, while other functions are controlled on the auxiliary device.

Preset EQ (Remote Control Only):

Press the EQ button on the remote control repeatedly to cycle through 4 different equalizer modes: CLASSIC, ROCK, POPS, JAZZ, and FLAT.

Mute:

After 5 seconds, the unit will confirm the selection and play for the chosen duration before automatically turning off. To cancel, tap SLEEP repeatedly until "00" shows and the icon disappears. To turn off the unit before the set time, press the STANDBY button. To check remaining sleep time, tap SLEEP once. Note that the sleep timer only turns off the HIFI100, not external devices connected via AUX.
