  If your Olympus Digital Camera doesn't turn on or the function buttons aren't responding, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the power switch is on. Check that the batteries are correctly loaded and not exhausted; replace them if necessary. Cold batteries can also be a problem, so warm them in your pocket. If the camera is in sleep mode, press the shutter button or zoom lever. Condensation inside the camera can also prevent it from turning on, so wait until it dries. Lastly, the camera will not operate while connected to a PC.

  If the flash on your Olympus Digital Camera isn't firing, there are several potential reasons. First, ensure the flash is popped up by pushing the flash lever up. If the subject is brightly illuminated and you want the flash to fire, set the flash to fill-in mode. Note that the flash does not fire in auto bracketing, movie, BLACK/WHITE BOARD, super macro, or panorama modes. Adjust the DRIVE menu or shooting mode accordingly.
