AFETY PRECAUTIONS
W Do not let water or foreign objects inside the camera.
a If the camera is accidentally dropped in water, or if liquid is spilled into the camera, stop using
it, allow it to dry, and then remove the batteries. Contact the nearest authorized Olympus
service center.
01 Stop using the camera immediately if you notice any unusual odors, noise, or smoke
around it.
a If you notice any unusual odors, noise, or smoke around the camera during operation, switch
it off immediately - and disconnect the optional AC adapter (if attached). Allow the camera
to sit idle for a few minutes to cool. Take the camera outdoors, away from flammable objects,
and carefully remove the batteries. Never remove the batteries with bare hands, whrch may
cause a fire or burn your hands. Contact the nearest Olympus service center immediately.
~7 Do not use the camera with wet hands.
0 To avoid dangerous electrical shock, never hold or operate the camera with wet hands.
01 Be careful with the strap.

Be careful with the strap when you carry the camera. It could easily catch on stray objects -
and cause serious damage.
m Use only the AC adapter provided or specified by Olympus.
l
Never use any AC adapter except one provided or specified by Olympus. Using a different
AC adapter may damage the camera or power source, or result in accidents or fire. Ensure
the adapter used is designed for your region or country. For more information, contact the
nearest Olympus service center or the store of purchase. Olympus makes no representations
or warranties regarding any damages caused by AC adapters not recommended by
Olympus.
02 Do not damage the power-supply cord.
l
Never pull or modify the power-supply cord of the AC adapter or accessories. Make sure only
the plug is securely held during insertion and removal from the outlet.
Stop using the camera immediately, and contact the nearest Olympus service center or the
store of purchase if:
-The power-supply cord becomes hot, or it gives off smoke or unusual odors
-The power-supply cord is cut or damaged, or the plug has a faulty contact.

When mounted on a tripod, adjust the position of the camera with the tripod
twrst the camera.
e Do not leave the camera pointed directly at the sun. This may cause lens (
failure or ghosting on the CCD.

Never drop the camera or subject it to severe shocks or vlbratlons.

Do not touch the camera’s electric contacts.

Do not push or pull severely on the lens.

To protect the high-precision technology contained In this product, never leave
the places listed below, no matter if in use or storage:

Places where temperatures and/or humidity are high or go through extreme cl
Direct sunlrght, beaches. locked cars. or near other heat sources (stove, ra
humidifiers.
- In sandy or dusty environments.
- Near flammable items or explosives.

In wet places, such as bathrooms or in the rain.
- In places prone to strong vibrations.

Before storjng the camera for a long perjod. remove the batteries. Select a co<
for storage to prevent condensation or mold from forming inside the camera.
test the camera by turning it on and pressing the shutter release button to make
operating normally.

To avoid damage or malfunction of the camera, operate it wlthln the follow
temperature and humidity:
0°C - 40°C (32°F - 104’F)
30% - 90% RH (with no condensation)
*To avoid damage to or malfunction of the camera, store it within the follow
temperature and humidity:
-20°C - 60°C (-4°F - 140°F)
10% - 90% RH (with no condensation)
