C. STAND
The s tand mamtsins the body at a set position and
holds the s pecimen in a s uitable ma nner for o bs e rv ation.
It is co mp os ed of a s tage a nd a pillar ( C-1 and C·2).
The st age is co mp osed of a ba se ·2Si and a s ta ge plate. The ba se s upp o rt s th e
binocular body a ss uring s tability whether th e head is mo unted in t he no rmal or re vers ed
positfon.
On the under side of the base , l eather pad s ar e located at three po int s of co ntac t to
prevent marking the desk. A female thecad is provided on the und erside, in to which
a s crew fits lo secure the stand to the storage cabinet.
The stage pl ate is mounted in the:: circular receptac le in th e base. A prepar ed
specimen can be examined on th is plate. The specimen ca n al So be dissected,
disassembled or ass e mbled on the pl ate. Interchangeable plat es of cl ear gla ss (for
trans - illum i nation ) smoked glass (for epi- illumin a tion ) or a meta l non- transparent
pl ate ( opt i ona l access ory ) , are availab le. The plates are secured by t he stage cla mp
screw (261.
Slides and small specimens can be held by the stage clips 12'(1 .
If the size of the specimen does not allow placement on the stage plate ,
the whole in strument can be set on t he surface of the specimen to be examined.
In this case, it mu st be focused on the lower plane of the stage.

This part holds the binocular body. The
pillar can be moved within a max i mum range
of 47mm vertically, and can be ro iat ed within
an angle of 80°. The suppo:ting secfon is
compo3ed of the pillar and the yoke < !3 ·. The
pillar consists of oute r and inner tube~. A£si sted
by the bu ilt in ba l ancing sp r ing , the inner tube
''W firmly holds the yoke and the binocula r bo:ly

to it slides up and down in the oute r
tube 131 and can be stabilized at a desired

in ne r tube can swing hNizontally as much as
80 °, enabling the body to move to the fullest
