Do you have a question about the Omega Altise OAPC147 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document describes the Omega Altise OAPC147 Portable Air Conditioner, a versatile unit designed for cooling and dehumidifying spaces.

Function Description

The OAPC147 is a portable air conditioner that offers multiple operating modes: Cooling, Fan, Dry/Dehumidify, and Auto. It features an auto-water-evaporating system, which uses condensed water to cool the condenser, thereby improving cooling efficiency and saving energy. The unit is designed for easy portability with castors and includes an exhaust hose for expelling hot air.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model: OAPC147
  • Cooling Capacity: 14000 BTU/h
  • Mains: 220-240V/50Hz/1Ph
  • Power Consumption: 1538 W
  • Current: 7 A
  • Refrigerant: R410A
  • Compressor Type: Rotary
  • Fan Speeds: 3 (High, Medium, Low)
  • Thermostat Range: 16-31°C
  • Timer: 0-24 hours

Usage Features

The OAPC147 can be controlled via a control panel on the unit or a remote control.

Control Panel and Remote Control Features:

  • POWER: Turns the unit On or Off. Default mode upon startup is cooling with low fan speed.
  • OPERATION MODE BUTTON: Selects between Fan, Dry/Dehumidify, Cool, or Auto modes.
  • FAN SPEED: Adjusts fan speed to High, Medium, or Low.
  • UP/DOWN Buttons: Used to adjust temperature settings (16-31°C) in cooling mode or timer settings (1-24 hours) in timer mode.
  • SLEEP: Activates/deactivates sleep function in cooling mode, typically setting the fan speed to low.
  • ON/OFF TIMER: Allows users to program the unit to turn on or off after a selected time (1-24 hours).

Operating Modes:

  • Auto Mode: Automatically selects the relevant operating mode based on the current room temperature.
  • Cooling Mode: Provides cooling. Temperature and fan speed can be adjusted.
  • Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling. Temperature and sleep functions are not available in this mode.
  • Dry/Dehumidifying Mode: Reduces humidity. Fan speed is fixed to low. Temperature and sleep functions are not available. This mode supports continuous draining using the supplied drain hose.
  • Sleep Mode: Designed for comfortable overnight operation, typically with a low fan speed. It is invalid in dehumidifying and fan modes and will be cancelled if the water tank is full, the machine is in standby, or the mode is converted.

Installation:

  • The unit should be placed on a flat, dry surface, at least 50 cm away from walls, furniture, and curtains to ensure proper airflow.
  • The exhaust hose connects to a slide bar connector, which then fits into an adjustable window slide bar to vent hot air outside.
  • It is crucial to ensure free access for the exhaust pipe and avoid sharp bends to maintain performance. The exhaust pipe should be kept as level and short as possible.

Compressor Protection:

  • A 3-minute time delay is implemented for the compressor to start if the unit is turned ON/OFF/ON rapidly.

Water Drainage:

  • The unit has an auto-evaporating system. If the internal water tank becomes full, a "W.F" indicator will flash, the buzzer will beep, and the unit will enter standby mode, stopping the compressor.
  • To drain water, the unit must be powered off and unplugged, then the drainage plug at the back bottom of the unit can be removed. After draining, the plug must be reinstalled before resuming operation.
  • For continuous draining in Dehumidify mode, the supplied drain hose can be installed into the designated black hole.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is essential for optimal performance and longevity of the unit.

Safety Precautions for Maintenance:

  • Always turn off the unit at the control panel, then at the power point, and unplug it before cleaning to prevent electric shocks.

Cleaning the Unit:

  • Use a soft, semi-dry cloth to clean the machine.
  • Avoid using chemical agents such as benzene, alcohol, or gasoline, as these can damage the machine's surface.
  • Use a moist cloth, not a wet or dripping one, to prevent water from entering the control panel or the machine, which could cause damage.

Filter Maintenance:

  • Filters should be cleaned as required, or at least every two weeks. Blocked filters can reduce machine efficiency.
  • Clean filters in warm water with a neutral detergent.
  • Dry the cleaned filters in the shade.
  • Important Note: Do not run the machine without filters.

Seasonal Cleaning (for long-term storage):

  • Drain any remaining water from the unit by pulling out the upper/lower drainage plug.
  • Run the unit in fan mode for 2 hours to dry out its internal components.
  • Turn off the unit, switch off the power point, and remove the plug.
  • Clean and dry the filters, then reinstall them.
  • Remove the exhaust pipe for safe keeping.
  • Place the unit in a plastic bag and store it in a dry place.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the machine not working (e.g., "P2" flash, timer-off), frequent restarts (e.g., direct sunlight, open doors/windows, dirty filters, blocked air inlets/outlets), or excessive noise (e.g., not on flat ground). It also addresses compressor issues (e.g., time-delay protection). For persistent problems, users are advised to contact an authorized service agent.
