The JTC OmniBlend I (TM767) is a high-performance blender designed for a variety of blending tasks, from making whole food juices and soups to processing frozen mixtures and grinding grains. It features a robust 3 peak output horsepower motor, ensuring efficient and powerful operation.
Function Description:
The OmniBlend I is primarily used for blending, chopping, and puréeing various ingredients. Its design focuses on user safety and optimal performance, incorporating features like automatic overload protection and a specialized tamper for thick mixtures. The blender is capable of breaking down ice, frozen fruit, whole fruits or vegetables, and grains to achieve a smooth, lump-free consistency. It is suitable for both liquid and oil-based foods, though caution is advised with hot liquids and prolonged processing of nut butters to prevent overheating.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Model: JTC OmniBlend I / TM767
- Motor: 3 peak output horsepower motor
- Electrical: 240 V, 50/60 Hz, 11.5 A. Uses a R.S.A. three-prong grounded cord.
- Dimensions:
- Height: 52 cm
- Width: 18.42 cm
- Depth: 22.35 cm
- Blade Assembly: Stainless steel ball bearing, multi-purpose blade. Fits both 1.5 Ltr and 2 Ltr containers. Comes with a 1-year warranty.
- Drive Socket: Guaranteed for 3 years against stripping, misalignment, or breaking.
Usage Features:
- 2-Part Lid: Easy to put on, take off, and clean. Always use the lid and lid insert during operation. The 1.5 Ltr jug has a square lid, while the 2 Ltr jug has a round lid. Both have lid inserts; for the 2 Ltr jug, ensure the insert is fitted within the two small knobs to prevent rotation during blending. The lid insert can be removed to use the tamper or add ingredients.
- Tamper: Used for blending thicker textures and moving ingredients in the jug, preventing air pockets from forming. It must only be used through the lid's opening (with the insert removed) to avoid contact with the blades. The splash disk on the tamper prevents it from touching the blades when the lid is properly secured. When using the tamper, hold the jug firmly on the base to avoid excessive wiggling, which can wear the drive socket. Do not use the tamper for more than 90 consecutive seconds to prevent overheating.
- Control Panel:
- On/Off Switch: Push up to turn On (|), push down to turn Off (O).
- Speed Dial (Variable Speed Microswitch): Ranges from MIN (lowest speed) to MAX (highest speed). Always start blending on MIN speed and gradually increase as needed. Do not start the machine on MAX speed.
- Pulse Switch: Provides instant MAX speed for coarse blends and chopping. This switch automatically returns to its default position when released.
- Container Markings: Ounces, cups, and milliliters are clearly marked on the container for easy measurement.
- Cord Wrap: Plastic cord retainers on the bottom of the motor base securely hold the power cord when not in use.
- Automatic Overload Protection: A built-in feature that protects the motor from overheating. If activated, the machine will stop operating. To reset, allow the machine to cool for 5-10 minutes, then press the Overload Button located on the bottom of the machine (while still connected to power).
- Safety Precautions:
- Always operate the blender with the lid and lid plug firmly in place.
- Do not leave the blender unattended during operation.
- Avoid contacting moving parts.
- Keep hands and utensils out of the container while blending. A silicon scraper or spatula may be used only when the blender is not running.
- Do not remove the container while the blades are still spinning or wiggle the jug on the blender base, as this can damage the drive socket.
- When blending hot liquids, fill the jug to a maximum of 1/3 to 1/2 full to prevent steam buildup. Remove the lid-plug, place the lid securely, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and start on the lowest speed, gradually increasing.
- When making nut butters or oil-based foods, be cautious of heat buildup. Allow the jug to cool for 10-15 minutes between processing periods to prevent damage.
- Never start on speeds above 1 with hot liquids to avoid burns.
- Do not leave foreign objects (spoons, forks, knives, lid plug) in the container, as they can damage blades and components.
- Never attempt to operate with damaged blades.
Maintenance Features:
- Container Cleaning: Rinse with warm water after each use. For normal cleaning, fill one-third with warm water and a few drops of dish soap, snap the lid into place, run on MIN to MAX speed for 30-60 seconds, then turn off, rinse, and drain.
- Deep Cleaning (Monthly or as needed): Place 3 cups of cool water and 3 cups of white vinegar (add an extra cup for a 2 Ltr jug) into the container. Leave to soak for about four hours, then pour out and rinse thoroughly. Follow with normal cleaning instructions.
- Lid & Lid Plug Cleaning: Separate the lid and lid plug, wash in warm soapy water, rinse under running water, and dry. Reassemble before use. The container, lid, or lid plug should not be put in the dishwasher to ensure continued effective performance.
- Motor Base Cleaning: Unplug the power cord. Wash the outside surface with a damp soft cloth or sponge rinsed in a mild solution of liquid detergent and warm water. Do not immerse the motor base in water. The container cushion can be removed for thorough cleaning. Thoroughly clean the drive socket and the grooves around the water-shielded switches with a moistened cotton swab, then immediately dry any excess water. Polish with a soft cloth.
