Overview

This document is an owner's manual and safety instructions for a "one stop gardens" Greenhouse, model 47712.

Function Description

The Greenhouse is designed to provide a sheltered environment for plants, protecting them from harsh weather conditions and allowing for controlled growing conditions. It is intended for use as a horticultural structure. The manual emphasizes the importance of proper assembly, a stable foundation, and regular maintenance to ensure safe and effective operation. It also highlights the need for adult supervision if children are near the greenhouse due to potential sharp edges and the risk of falling protective covers.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Overall Dimensions: 8'5" L x 6'3" W x 6'5" H
  • Window Dimensions: 23" L x 20" W
  • Door Dimensions: 64" H x 24" W x 1-1/4" Thick
  • Materials: Aluminum Frame, Transparent Polycarbonate Sheets

  • Polycarbonate Sheet Thickness: 0.165"

The manual outlines three foundation options:

  1. Concrete Anchor Foundation: Utilizes a 4x4 treated lumber frame, appropriate hardware, and prefabricated concrete anchors (sold separately). The frame dimensions are 97" L x 75-1/4" W, with 4" deep holes for anchors.
  2. Treated Wood Base Foundation: Constructed from 4x6 and 2x12 treated lumber, hardware (including galvanized lag bolts/deck screws), and fill material like gravel (sold separately). The base dimensions are 97" L x 75-1/4" W, with a 12" height.
  3. Concrete Slab Foundation with Wooden Sill: Requires a 4x2 thick treated lumber sill, appropriate hardware, and 1/4" diameter anchor bolts (sold separately) to secure the sill to a concrete slab. The sill dimensions are 97" L x 75-1/4" W, with 1/4" mounting holes.

Usage Features

The greenhouse is designed for stationary use and requires a proper foundation for stability, especially against strong winds or inclement weather. The door is designed to slide open and close, and windows are included for ventilation. The manual instructs users to ensure the door does not open towards the prevailing wind.

Key assembly steps involve:

  • Attaching Corner Posts to Floor Plates.
  • Assembling the Crown and securing Crown Beams.
  • Attaching Side Studs, Side Horizontal Braces, and Side Diagonal Braces.
  • Assembling Roof Studs and Side Ceiling Plates.
  • Installing Window Support Beams.
  • Assembling the door frame, including Door Sliders and a Door Bottom Slider.
  • Assembling the windows, including Side Window Frames, Top Window Frame, Window Panel, and Bottom Window Frame.
  • Mounting the assembled windows and door to the main frame.
  • Installing various panels (Side Panels, Roof Panels, Door Panels) using Panel Clips, Bolts, Nuts, Side Fixtures, Angle Fixtures, and Screws. Protective film must be removed from panels during installation, and the window side covered in white film should face outwards. A warning label must be attached to the Door Center Panel, readable from outside.

Maintenance Features

  • Before Each Use: Inspect the general condition of the greenhouse. Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, and any other condition that may affect safe operation. Do not use damaged equipment.
  • Cleaning: Wipe with a damp cloth using a mild detergent. Avoid combustible, corrosive, or aluminum-incompatible cleaners.
  • Storing: Keep the greenhouse in a box in a clean, dry location.
  • Periodic Inspection: Inspect periodically and replace damaged parts immediately. Do not enter the greenhouse if parts are loose or damaged.
  • Snow/Debris Accumulation: Do not allow heavy snow or debris to accumulate on the roof. If snowfall is expected, additional supports (sold separately) should be placed underneath the Crown (35). Never enter a greenhouse with accumulated debris on top.
  • Professional Service: For safety, service and maintenance should be performed regularly by a qualified technician.

The manual also includes a 90-day limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, but excludes damage from misuse, abuse, negligence, accidents, improper installation, normal wear and tear, or lack of maintenance.
