Overview

The Optimum 600XL is a cold press, big mouth slow juicer designed for home use, offering a professional-quality juicing experience. It is engineered to extract juice from fruits and vegetables efficiently while preserving nutrients.

Function Description:

The Optimum 600XL operates as a cold press slow juicer, meaning it extracts juice by slowly pressing ingredients rather than using high-speed blades. This method minimizes heat buildup and oxidation, which helps to retain more vitamins, enzymes, and nutrients in the juice. The "big mouth" design refers to its wide feeding chute, which allows for larger pieces of fruits and vegetables to be inserted, reducing the need for extensive pre-cutting. The juicer separates juice from pulp, with dedicated containers for each. It features a reverse function ("R") to help clear blockages and an intelligent protection chip that automatically switches off the appliance after 20 minutes of continuous juicing to prevent overheating and prolong its lifespan.

Usage Features:

The juicer is designed for ease of use and safety.

  • Assembly: The appliance requires proper assembly of the juicing bowl, auger, and feeding chute, which twist and lock into place. It will only operate when correctly assembled and plugged in.
  • Preparation: Fruits and vegetables should be cut into pieces no larger than 5cm x 3cm strips or 5cm x 5cm cubes, although the big mouth chute reduces the need for very small cuts. Hard pits and seeds from fruits like oranges, lemons, grapefruits, and melons must be removed, and these fruits should be peeled.
  • Operation: Ingredients are placed into the chute, and the pusher is used to gently guide them down. The juicer is started by switching to the "-" setting. In case of blockages, the "R" (reverse) function can be used to clear food debris.
  • Drip-Stop Cover: The juice spout features a drip-stop cover, which prevents dripping at the end of juicing and allows for mixing different juices within the juicing bowl before dispensing. It is recommended to keep the juice tap open during juicing for consistent flow and to prevent pressure buildup.
  • Overload Protection: The juicer is equipped with an intelligent protection chip that automatically shuts off the appliance after 20 minutes of continuous use or if it becomes overloaded/blocked. A 20-30 minute cooling period is recommended between uses to extend the motor's lifespan.
  • Avoided Ingredients: The manual explicitly advises against juicing very hard, fibrous, or starchy fruits/vegetables like sugar cane, avocado, bananas, figs, mango, papaya, dragon fruit, strawberry, and seedless grapes, as these can clog the sieve or damage the squeezing parts. Ice cubes are also not recommended. Rhubarb stalks are discouraged due to high oxalic acid concentration when juiced.
  • Juicing Tips: It's recommended to alternate between juicier and more fibrous fruits and vegetables. Softer fruits should be juiced before harder ones. For apples, firm varieties like Granny Smith are preferred, and they should be juiced slowly, alternating with other produce like carrots to keep the strainer clean.

Maintenance Features:

Regular cleaning is crucial for optimal performance and longevity.

  • Immediate Cleaning: All detachable parts that come into direct contact with ingredients should be washed immediately after each use with soapy water and then rinsed and dried thoroughly. Failure to do so can cause pulp to stick tightly, affecting disassembly and performance.
  • Cleaning Tools: A provided cleaning brush helps remove pulp residue from meshes.
  • Silicone Valve: The silicone valve in the pulp spout can be pulled out for thorough cleaning under running water.
  • Seal Ring: The seal ring in the center of the juicing bowl can be removed for cleaning by pushing it out from the upside-down bowl. It must be reinserted correctly, with the small ribbed surface facing upward and the big flat side on the inside.
  • Motor Base: The motor base should not be immersed in water; it should only be wiped with a damp cloth.
  • Stubborn Stains/Residues: For a more thorough cleaning of mineral films or discolouration from leafy greens, components (except the base) can be submerged overnight in warm water with 100g of citric acid and 100g of baking soda (1:1 ratio), then scrubbed with the cleaning brush.
  • Storage: After cleaning and ensuring all parts are thoroughly dried, the unit and its accessories should be stored in a dry, cool place, out of reach of children. The power cord should be neatly arranged.
  • Prohibited Cleaning Materials: Do not use iron wire brushes, abrasive materials, harsh cleansers, corrosive liquids (e.g., acids, acetone), or sharp objects to clean the unit. Water above 40°C should also be avoided.
