Function Description

The Origo ABM-015 is an automatic bread maker designed for household use. It offers a variety of functions for baking different types of bread and other food items. The device features a control panel with an LCD display, allowing users to select from 19 different modes, adjust settings, and monitor the baking process.

The bread maker's primary function is to automate the bread-making process, from mixing ingredients to baking. It includes a stirring blade for kneading dough and a baking bowl where the bread is cooked. Beyond basic bread, it can prepare French bread, sweet bread, ultra-fast bread, quick bread, cakes, desserts, rice bread, corn bread, gluten-free bread, gruel, sticky rice, mixes, dough, knead, rice wine, yogurt, and jam.

Usage Features

The bread maker is operated via a control panel with several buttons:

  • START/PAUSE/STOP: Initiates the selected program, stops the current operation (by pressing and holding for 3 seconds), or stops the keep warm function.
  • MENU: Selects from 19 different working modes (1-19).
  • WEIGHT: Chooses between 1.0 Lb and 1.5 Lb bread weights.
  • COLOR: Selects the desired crust color (Light, Medium, Dark).
  • TIME +/-: Adjusts the completion time, which is the sum of the preset starting time and the working time, up to a maximum of 15 hours.

First Time Use: Before initial use, the appliance may produce some smoke and odor due to a protective oil applied during manufacturing. It is recommended to clean all parts as per the maintenance section and then run the "19-Bake" mode for 10 minutes with a small amount of water to eliminate any residual smell from the heating tube and baking bowl.

Bread Making Process:

  1. Place the stirring blade onto the shaft in the baking bowl.
  2. Add liquids (water or milk) to the baking bowl. If using eggs, reduce the amount of water accordingly.
  3. Add salt and sugar to a corner of the baking bowl.
  4. Add oil or butter.
  5. Add flour, ensuring it covers the entire surface of the water.
  6. Create a small pit in the flour and add yeast, keeping it dry and separate from water.
  7. Insert the baking bowl into the main body and turn clockwise to lock it.
  8. Close the lid.
  9. Select the desired mode using the MENU button.
  10. Select the weight using the WEIGHT button.
  11. Select the crust color using the COLOR button.
  12. Set the preset starting time using the TIME +/- buttons (if delayed start is desired).
  13. Press START/PAUSE/STOP to begin.
  14. Upon completion, the LCD will display "0:00", an alarm will sound 10 times, and the machine will automatically switch to a 1-hour keep warm mode.
  15. To stop the keep warm function, press and hold START/PAUSE/STOP for 3 seconds.

Specific Modes and Recipes:

  • Sticky Rice (Mode 12): Involves rinsing and dehydrating sticky rice, then adding water and the rice to the baking bowl.
  • Mix (Mode 13): Used for mixing dough, such as for dumpling wrappers or noodles.
  • Dough (Mode 14): For preparing yeast dough for buns, pizza, or plaits.
  • Knead (Mode 15): An extended mix function that allows adjustment of time based on dough quantity and desired effect.
  • Fermented Glutinous Rice Wine (Mode 16): Requires soaking glutinous rice, steaming it, cooling it, then adding distiller's yeast and cool water before fermenting in the bread maker.
  • Yogurt (Mode 17): Involves sterilizing the baking bowl with boiling water, then adding warm milk and lactic acid bacteria.
  • Jam (Mode 18): For making jam with shredded fresh fruit, sugar, and cornflour. Note: Jam is high in sugar, so diabetic patients should consume with caution.
  • Bake (Mode 19): For baking fermented dough. Users can control stirring and fermenting time using the "14-Dough Ferment" menu before using this bake mode.

Maintenance Features

Safety Precautions for Maintenance:

  • Always unplug the power cord before moving or servicing the appliance.
  • NEVER immerse the bread maker in water or any other liquid.
  • Ensure the appliance is completely cool before cleaning.

Cleaning Instructions:

  • Main Body: Clean with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt or grime. For stubborn stains, use a cloth dampened with warm soapy water.
  • Baking Bowl and Accessories (Stirring Blade, Measuring Cup, Measuring Spoon, Hook): These parts can be washed directly with water.
  • Avoid: Do not use hard brushes or scratchy materials for cleaning. Do not use gasoline, benzene, thinner, harsh cleaners, alcohol, or any other solvents, as they can damage the bread maker.

Storage:

  • Store the bread maker, along with its instructions, in its original box in a cool and dry place when not in use.

Warranty:

  • The product comes with a 1-year carry-in warranty for household use (3 months for commercial use) from the date of purchase.
  • The warranty covers defects under normal use and includes free repair or parts replacement.
  • It does not cover damage from abuse, misuse, negligence, accidents, unauthorized repair, alteration, or modification.
  • The housing, cover, baking bowl, stirring blade, measuring cup, measuring spoon, and hook are excluded from the warranty.
  • Customers must bring the unit to and from the service center.
  • The warranty is valid only in H.K.S.A.R.
  • Proof of purchase (invoice) is required for free service.
  • An additional 3-month warranty (total 15 months, not applicable to commercial use) can be obtained by completing an online warranty registration within 10 days of receipt on the www.origo.hk website.
