Overview

The Osprey Talon/Tempest Series is a versatile line of technical packs designed for dynamic body movement, suitable for activities ranging from bagging peaks to bikepacking. These packs prioritize a lightweight, ventilated, and close-to-body fit, ensuring they move with you even on the most technical terrain. This is achieved through a BioStretch harness, a continuous-wrap hipbelt, and an injection-molded, die-cut foam AirScape® backpanel. The series offers a range of styles, from lumbar packs to ultralight backpacks, all designed to provide optimal stability. A key aspect of their design is the use of sustainable recycled fabrics and appropriate features, all within a lightweight package that supports both large and small adventures.

Usage Features:

The Talon/Tempest series incorporates several features to enhance usability and convenience during your adventures.

Harness Adjustment:

For the 44L/40L/36L/34L/33L/30L/26L/24L/22L/20L/11L/9L/JR models, the harness system is easily adjustable to fit various torso lengths. To adjust, loosen the load lifter straps at the top of the harness. Slide your hand between the backpanel and harness to release the hook and loop attachment. Then, slide the harness into the desired position, guided by the arrows. Firmly press on the backpanel to reengage the hook and loop attachment, securing the harness in place.

External Reservoir Sleeve:

Available on all models (44L/40L/36L/34L/33L/30L/26L/24L/22L/20L/11L/9L/JR), an external reservoir sleeve is located behind the shoulder harness. This design allows for easy loading and unloading of a hydration reservoir. To use, place your reservoir inside the sleeve, which helps provide proper weight distribution. Clip the reservoir to the buckled loop to keep it upright and secure.

Stow-on-the-Go Trekking Pole Attachment:

Featured on the 44L/40L/33L/30L/22L/20L/11L/9L models, Osprey's Stow-on-the-Go™ trekking pole attachment allows for quick and easy attachment and carrying of trekking poles while wearing the pack. To attach, locate the elasticized loop on the lower left side of the pack. Pull the loop out from the pack and insert the basket end of your trekking poles into it. Next, on the left harness strap, locate the trekking pole icon. Pull up on the cord to open the loop, place the pole handles into the loop, and then tighten with the cord lock to secure them. To remove the trekking poles, simply reverse these steps.

Side Stretch Mesh Pockets:

Present on all models (44L/40L/36L/34L/33L/30L/26L/24L/22L/20L/11L/9L/JR), these stretch mesh pockets are located on both sides of the pack. They provide convenient storage for smaller items, keeping them easily accessible.

Dual and Single Ice Tool Loops:

Available on the 44L/40L/36L/34L/33L/30L/26L/24L/22L/20L/11L/9L models, these loops offer secure storage for mountaineering axes and ice tools. To use, slide the tool shaft through the top of the ice tool loop and flip the shaft up toward the top of the pack. Then, loosen the bungee cord lock and route the tool handle through the bungee. Tighten the cord lock, nesting it into the Y-clip to secure the tool in place. To remove the tool, reverse these steps.

Lower InsideOut Compression / Carry Straps:

Found on the 44L/40L/36L/34L/33L/30L/26L/24L/22L/20L/11L/9L models, InsideOut™ Compression straps help compress the pack when it's not full, ensuring stable carry and securing items in the side pockets. These straps can be routed either inside or outside of the side mesh pockets. To adjust, locate the duckbill buckle at the top and side of each side pocket and unthread the webbing. Route the webbing by positioning the slider buckle inside or outside of the side pocket, and then reverse the process to secure.

LidLock™ Helmet Attachment:

Available on the 22L/20L/11L/9L/JR models, the LidLock™ helmet attachment provides a convenient way to carry your helmet. To use, locate the LidLock™ clip on the top front panel of the pack. Pull the clip away from the pack, pass it through a helmet vent, and secure it in a horizontal position. The cord located on the inside of the pack can be used to increase or decrease tension as needed. To remove the helmet, reverse the process.

Maintenance Features:

The Osprey Talon/Tempest series is designed for durability and ease of care, ensuring a long lifespan for your pack.

Product Promise:

Osprey prides itself on creating highly functional, durable, and innovative carrying products. The Talon/Tempest series is built with these principles in mind, using robust materials and construction techniques to withstand the rigors of outdoor adventures.

Sustainable Design:

The commitment to durability extends to the materials used. The body fabrics contain bluesign® approved nylon, indicating environmentally responsible production. Additionally, the packs incorporate GRS-certified recycled materials, further reducing their environmental impact. All fabrics are treated with PFC-free DWR (Durable Water Repellent), which provides water resistance without using harmful perfluorinated chemicals. These design choices contribute to the longevity of the product and its reduced ecological footprint.

Warranty:

Osprey offers a lifetime guarantee for its products. This commitment ensures that if your pack encounters any issues due to manufacturing defects or material failures, Osprey will repair or replace it, reflecting confidence in the product's durability and quality.
