The Ozito Rotary Hammer Drill Kit (RHD-6100) is a versatile 1500W power tool designed for a range of drilling and chiselling tasks. It features a robust SDS+ accessory holder, allowing for quick and secure changes of drill bits and chisels. The tool is equipped with a magnesium gear case for durability and a soft grip rear handle for comfortable operation.

Function Description:

The RHD-6100 offers three primary operation modes:

  • Hammer Drill: This mode combines rotary motion with a powerful hammer action, making it ideal for drilling holes in concrete, brick, and other masonry materials. The side mode selector is set to the hammer and drill icon, and the rear mode selector is also set to the drill and hammer icon.
  • Chiselling: In this mode, the tool provides a hammer action without rotation, perfect for chipping and chiselling away masonry. The side mode selector is set to the hammer icon, and the rear mode selector is set to the drill and hammer icon.
  • Drilling: This mode provides rotary action without hammer action, suitable for drilling into timber, steel, and other materials where impact is not required. The side mode selector is set to the hammer and drill icon, and the rear mode selector is set to the drill icon.

It's recommended to apply supplied lubricant to the SDS+ accessory prior to insertion to ensure smooth operation and longevity. A slight movement (10-20mm) of the accessory once locked is normal.
  • Dust Cover: A dust cover is provided to catch dust and debris, especially when drilling upright or overhead, preventing particles from entering the air vents and prolonging the tool's life. It slides over the accessory and is pressed to the end of the locking sleeve.
  • Safety: The manual emphasizes ensuring the workpiece is securely clamped and disconnecting the tool from the power supply before performing any adjustments or maintenance.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: It is crucial to keep the ventilation vents clean and to blow air through the drill housing after each use to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating and failure. Only a moist soft cloth should be used for cleaning the enclosure; solvents should be avoided, and no liquid should enter the drill.
  • Gear Box Grease Replenishment: After approximately 50 hours of accumulated use, the gearbox grease will require replenishment. Approximately 50 grams (2-3 teaspoons) of the supplied grease should be added through the grease cap opening, which is removed using the pin spanner.
  • Carbon Brushes: The carbon brushes are wearing components and will eventually wear out, causing the drill to spark or stop. They should be replaced as a pair by a qualified electrician or power tool repairer as soon as this occurs to prevent permanent damage to the drill. Continuing to use the drill with worn carbon brushes will void the warranty.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a troubleshooting section to address common issues such as the drill not working, hammer function not engaging, or excessive sparking, providing remedies like checking power supply, adjusting mode selectors, cleaning brush holders, or replacing carbon brushes.

The Ozito RHD-6100 comes with a 1-year replacement warranty for DIY use, covering defects from the original date of purchase. Consumable parts like carbon brushes and included accessories are excluded from the warranty. The warranty is void if the tool is operated on an incorrect voltage, shows signs of abuse or alterations, lacks maintenance, or is disassembled.
