Overview

This document describes the OZO Fitness C3D Pedometer, a device designed to track physical activity. The manual outlines its functions, features, and maintenance procedures to ensure proper use and longevity.

Function Description

The C3D Pedometer is equipped with several key functions to help users monitor their daily activity. It features a SET button (1) for configuration, a Step target LED (2) to indicate progress towards a daily goal, and a RESET button (3) for clearing data. The LCD Display (4) shows various metrics, while the Memory button (5) allows access to past activity logs. The MODE button (6) cycles through different display modes. For convenience, it includes a Chime (7) for alerts, a Lanyard loop (8) for attachment, and a Detachable clip (9) for secure wearing. Maintenance features include a System reset hole (10), a Battery cover screw (11), and a Battery cover (12).

Usage Features

The pedometer boasts several usage features to enhance the user experience:

Tracking Capabilities:

  • 3D silent sensor: Counts steps accurately regardless of the pedometer's position, even inside a pocket.
  • Step count: Tracks up to 99,999 steps.
  • Distance tracking: Measures up to 999.99 KM / Miles.
  • Calorie tracking: Calculates up to 9999.9 calories burned.
  • Imperial or Metric units: Users can choose their preferred unit system for distance and weight.
  • 10 Step false start correction: To prevent phantom steps, the pedometer begins counting only after detecting 10 consecutive steps or more.

Daily Goals and Progress:

  • Daily step target: Users can set a personalized daily step goal. The Step target LED (2) and a progress bar on the LCD display indicate how close the user is to achieving their goal. When the target is met, the progress bar flashes and the device beeps for 30 seconds.

Time and Activity Monitoring:

  • 12/24 clock format: Displays time in either 12-hour or 24-hour format. The 12-hour format displays "PM" only.
  • Activity timer: Records the total time spent walking during the day.

Memory and Data Logging:

  • 7 Day memory log: Stores activity data for up to seven days. Data for the day is automatically saved at 12 AM midnight, and the display resets to zero for the new day.

User Interface and Alerts:

  • Low battery indicator: Notifies the user when the battery needs replacement.
  • Chime: Provides audible alerts.

Setup and Configuration:

  • Initial setup: Upon first use, users need to pull the battery insulator to activate the device. The setup process involves configuring the clock format (12H/24H), current time (hour and minutes), unit of measurement (Imperial/Metric), stride length, body weight, and daily step target.
  • Programming mode: The pedometer will exit programming mode after 10 seconds of inactivity. If a mistake is made during programming, users can restart the process. Calculating stride length beforehand is recommended for accuracy.

Display Modes:

  • TOTAL STEP: Shows all-time totals since the pedometer was activated, including total distance, total calories, and total time.
  • STEP COUNTS: Displays the number of steps walked during the current day.
  • DISTANCE TRAVELED: Shows the distance covered. If distance is inaccurate, users can adjust their stride length by 3-5 inches to improve accuracy.
  • CALORIES BURNED: Displays the estimated calories burned.
  • ACTIVITY TIME: Shows the total time spent in active movement.

Memory Log Access:

  • Pressing the MEMORY button (5) displays the memory log. Users can cycle through categories (Steps, Distance, Calories, Activity time) using the SET button (1) and scroll through up to 7 days of data using the MEMORY button (5).

Sleep Mode:

  • To conserve battery power, the LCD will automatically shut off after 30 seconds of inactivity. The pedometer will reactivate and resume counting once movement is detected.

Maintenance Features

The C3D Pedometer includes features and instructions for maintenance to ensure its continued functionality:

System Reset:

  • Purpose: A system reset is recommended when replacing the battery, if LCD digits become unrecognizable or dim, or if pressing the RESET key has no effect.
  • Procedure: Gently insert the end of a paperclip into the System reset hole (10) on the back of the unit. This action will clear all current data and reset the display to "0," requiring the user to set up the pedometer again.
  • Warning: Performing a system reset will erase all pedometer data, including memory.

Battery Replacement:

  • Battery type: The pedometer uses a CR-2032 button cell battery.
  • Procedure:
    1. Remove the Battery cover screw (11) using a small Phillips screwdriver.
    2. Remove the Battery cover (12).
    3. Remove the old button cell battery.
    4. Replace with a fresh battery, ensuring it is inserted in the correct polarity position.
    5. Screw the battery door back in place.
  • Indicator: The Low battery indicator will appear on the display when the battery needs to be replaced.

Data Clearing:

  • Clearing current day's data: To erase steps, distance, calories, or activity time for the current day, press and hold the RESET button (3) until the digits revert to 0. This action will also reset all pedometer data for that day.
  • Clearing total data and memory log: To clear all-time totals or the entire memory log, press the MODE button (6) until "TOTAL" is shown, then press and hold the RESET button (3) until the digits revert to 0. This will erase all pedometer data, including memory.

Troubleshooting Display Issues:

  • Faint background digits: If the LCD shows faint background digits upon initial activation, this is normal with a fresh battery and will disappear as the battery reaches its normal operating voltage.
  • Abnormal characters or frozen screen: If the LCD shows abnormal characters, the screen freezes, or step digits are not counting, a system reset is recommended.

Error Correction:

  • Improper step counting: The pedometer may not count steps correctly under conditions of irregular motion (swinging, vibrating) or inconsistent walking pace. Users should maintain a consistent pace for accurate readings.
