Overview

The P-Lindberg Whitewash Sprayer (Item no. 9063928) is a versatile and robust device designed for various spraying applications, including whitewashing, disinfection, and oil treatment. It can operate independently of an external air supply, making it suitable for a wide range of environments.

Function Description

The sprayer is designed to apply liquids under pressure. It consists of a main container, a funnel with a closure combination, a pressure release tap, a quick coupling nipple for compressed air, a discharge tap, a drain cap, a lance assembly, and a hose. The device can be operated with or without a compressed air compressor. When used with a compressor, it can be filled to 35 liters, and without a compressor, to 25 liters, allowing for a compressed air cushion. This cushion enables the sprayer to function independently of the mains network once pressurized.

The spraying process involves filling the container with the desired liquid, pressurizing it (either manually or via a compressor), and then using the lance and hose to apply the liquid. The pressure release tap is crucial for depressurizing the container before opening or refilling. The funnel and drain cap are designed to be unscrewed only when the container is depressurized, ensuring safety.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Total Container Volume: 39.5 liters
  • Maximum Fill Volume (with air compressor): 35 liters
  • Maximum Fill Volume (without air compressor): 25 liters
  • Operating Pressure: 2-3 bar
  • Maximum Pressure: 5 bar
  • Weight: 20 kg
  • Height: 87 cm
  • Included Components: Lance, nozzle, and 10-meter hose.

Usage Features

The sprayer is ideal for whitewashing barns, laying out poison, disinfection, and oil treatment of wood. It is designed for specific applications as described in the manual; any other use is considered improper.

Getting Started:

  1. Depressurize: Ensure the drain cap (6) and discharge tap (5) on the container are closed, and open the pressure release tap (3) to release any residual pressure.
  2. Fill: Unscrew the funnel lock combination (2) by hand. Depress the rubber ball, place the strainer in the funnel, and fill the container with 3 buckets (12 liters each) for a total of 36 liters of whitewash.
  3. Close: Lift the rubber ball to engage the spring band, close the pressure release tap (3) at the top of the container.
  4. Pressurize: For whitewashing, set the pressure control at 2.0-3 bar and fit the compressed air hose to the plug nipple (4). Air pressure entering the container pushes the rubber ball into the ball seating and automatically seals the container.
  5. Connect Hose: Attach the hose fittings, together with the whole spray lance, including the jet, to the container (5), press the stopcock to start whitewashing. If whitewashing a ceiling, use the extension tube. The distance between the jet and the wall should not exceed 40 cm.
  6. Adjust Spray Pressure: For thick or thin whitewash, adjust the spray pressure. Thicker whitewash requires higher pressure, while thinner whitewash requires lower pressure. The basic setting is 2.0 – 3 bar.
  7. Depressurize and Refill: When the whitewash runs out, the compressed air feed (4) must be removed, and the container completely depressurized via the pressure release tap (3) at the top.

Important Safety Instructions:

  • Always wear protective clothing and goggles while spraying.
  • Whitewash during the warmer months of the year. Walls should be dry so they can absorb the whitewash.
  • Avoid drafts by closing windows.
  • Exterior work on buildings should be undertaken when there is no wind and never in full sun. If the sun dries the whitewash too quickly, it will result in flaking.
  • To reduce the risk of contact with caustic substances, wear protective clothing and goggles while spraying.
  • The funnel and drain cap can only be unscrewed when the container is not pressurized.
  • The leaded safety valve should be checked regularly.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and proper functioning of the sprayer.

Daily Maintenance (After Use):

  1. Empty: Empty the spray every day after use.
  2. Clean Thoroughly: Rinse the container, funnel, strainer, hose, spray fittings, and jet with water.
  3. Clean Pipe Strainer: A pipe strainer is located in the handle of the cut-off tap; this must also be cleaned thoroughly.
  4. Grease: After cleaning, it is recommended to lightly grease the outer thread on the funnel.

Safety Checks:

  • Regularly check the leaded safety valve.

Storage:

  • Store the sprayer in a clean, dry place.

Troubleshooting:

  • If the spray is too thick or thin, adjust the pressure accordingly.
  • Ensure the container is properly sealed and depressurized before opening for refilling or cleaning.
