6. Remove the O-ring from the
coolant filter housing, if it has not
been removed already.

Coolant Filter Installation
Follow the steps below to install the engine
coolant filter:
1. Apply a small amount of coolant to
the sealing ring of the new coolant
filter.
2. Install the filter, rotating it clockwise
until the sealing ring makes contact
with the filter housing. Then tighten
by hand 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn.
3. Turn the shutoff valve to the OPEN
position.
4. Reinstall the radiator fill cap.
5. Start the engine and run at idle
speed for several minutes. Check
for leaks.
Special Fill Instruction
CAUTION
Follow the procedure below to fill cool-
ant. Failure to follow this procedure
and maintain proper coolant level can
cause engine damage.
1. Fill cap
(service

2. Pressure
cap (never
to be
removed)
3. Fill line
1. Remove the Fill Cap (1) (Do not
remove the surge tank pressure
cap)(2).
2. Fill the system with premixed
coolant to the surge tank full cold
line.
