LED Lighting

Alpha LED Lamp 215W

The Alpha LED lamp is a high-performance LED light source for marine aquariums, developed with 11 years of experience in LED lamp research and production.

Lamp Wi-Fi Pacific Sun Cloud Setup

The Pacific Sun Cloud offers users the ability to connect and configure all Wi-Fi PS Cloud-ready devices, enabling additional functionality and automatic control for the aquarium.

Usage Features:

  • Connecting Lamp to home Wi-Fi network:
    1. Connect power to the PS device.
    2. Find the PS DEVICE on your Wi-Fi network list.
    3. Click "Connect" to the PS DEVICE Wi-Fi Network.
    4. Locate the Wi-Fi network password on a sticker on the device (DEVICE####, where #### is a unique number).
    5. Enter the password and click "Join."
    6. Verify connection to the PS Device-### Hotspot.
    7. Open an Internet Browser and type the device Wi-Fi network IP address (192.168.4.1) into the address field.
    8. Switch to STA+AP mode.
    9. Under "Wi-Fi Association," scan for available home Wi-Fi networks.
    10. Select your Home Wi-Fi network under "Network SSID."
    11. Type in your Home Wi-Fi network password.
    12. Click "Connect!"
    13. The device will be available under your Home Wi-Fi network with an IP address in the format 192.168.#.###.
    14. Optionally, restart the device by powering it OFF and ON. The LCD screen will display the IP Address.
  • Adding Lamp to Pacific Sun Cloud:
    1. Connect to your home Wi-Fi internet network, open an Internet Browser, and go to https://cloud.pacific-sun.eu.
    2. Click "Create an account" (skip if you already have a PS account and added a new tank).
    3. Create a Cloud Pacific Sun account by entering your email, password, and confirming the password, then click "Submit."
    4. After logging in, on the Dashboards, click "Add new tank."
    5. Under your tank Name, click "Add Device."
    6. Type in your preferred Name and select the lamp type (Althea, Alpha, Hyperion) from the list, then click "Add Device."
    7. Under your "Client ID," click "Auto Connect."
    8. Connect the Lamp to Pacific Sun Cloud by clicking "Next" in Step 1.
    9. Configure the device and prepare it by using your Lamp IP address and clicking "Configure!" The IP address can be seen on the LCD screen after powering the lamp OFF/ON.
  • Setting Up Light Profile:
    • OPTION 1 - Add new Light Profile:
      1. Go to "My Light Profiles."
      2. Click "Add."
      3. Type in your preferred lamp Name.
      4. Select lamp Type: Hyperion, Alpha.
      5. Click "OK."
      6. In the Basic Light Chart, enable "Share Public."
      7. Add extra nodes to the chart by clicking on the chart, selecting the color for the new node, and clicking "Add node."
      8. Modify the new node by selecting and moving/adjusting it. You can hide any chart color line by clicking on the color.
      9. Save the new Light Profile.
      10. Send the Light Profile to the Lamp by going to "Tank > Lamp > Light" and clicking "Send to Lamp." You can also edit the profile again and send it.
    • OPTION 2 - Import/modify profile from other users:
      1. Go to "My Light Profiles."
      2. Click "Import" or "Get shared profiles from other users."
      3. Select one of the lamp profiles.
      4. Type in your preferred lamp program Name.
      5. Click "OK."
      6. Optionally modify the imported Cloud Light Profile by selecting and moving/adjusting any node, and enabling "Share Public."
      7. Save the Light Profiles.
      8. Send the Light Profile to the Lamp by going to "Tank > Lamp > Light" and clicking "Send to Lamp." You can also edit the profile again and send it.
  • Linking Lamp with Kore 7th kHLab:
    • Pacific Sun Cloud allows linking your Lamp to Kore 7th kHLab to display KH, pH1, pH2, or temperature values on the LCD screen.
    1. After adding the Lamp to the PS Cloud under Kore7, go to "Linked devices."
    2. Click "Pandora Hyperion S."
    3. Enable "Display KH" and "Display pH1." Optionally, enable "Display pH2" and "Display temperature."

Lamp Firmware Upgrade

Warning: Switching OFF the power supply during the Firmware updating process may damage your lamp CPU, upload wrong Firmware, and void your warranty. Use only dedicated firmware upgrade software available for download on www.pacific-sun.eu in the "Download" section.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Connect your computer to the lamp via USB port.
  2. Windows Operating System: Should discover and install the new USB device and show the communication COM port number. If not, download and install USB-to-Serial Converter Drivers from https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm.
  3. Verify the correct USB Serial Port COM number:
    • Option 1: Under "Device Manager," verify the USB Serial Port COM number.
    • Option 2: From "Devices and Printers," right-click the device, select "Properties," and the COM number will be visible.
  4. Download the "Firmware Updater" application: From the Pacific Sun website (http://www.pacific-sun.eu/pliki/PSunFlash32.zip for Windows, http://www.pacific-sun.eu/pliki/PSunFlash21.app.zip for Mac OS). Unpack the ZIP file and run the "Firmware Uploader."
  5. In the "Settings" tab: Choose the port COM number and click "Apply." (For Mac OS, select the device from the list).
  6. Go to the "Firmware" tab and click "Open file..."
  7. Select the previously downloaded Firmware file and click "Open."
  8. Click "Update."
  9. The Firmware upgrade will be in progress: A message "Please wait........" will be displayed.
  10. RESET the lamp: Switch DOWN, then Switch UP.
  11. The Firmware writing process will start: The number of bytes will increase.
  12. The Firmware upgrade status will be indicated with a green progress bar.
  13. Final Firmware Upload steps:
    • At the end, the program will show "Firmware updated."
    • Disconnect the USB cable from your computer and Pacific Sun device.
    • Disconnect the device from the power source for a few seconds and connect the power back.
    • The Firmware upgrade process is complete.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Problem with communication between the device and PS Cloud service.

Solutions:

  1. Reboot your home Wi-Fi router (power OFF/ON), then reboot your PS device (power OFF/ON). Wait a few minutes and check the PS Cloud application interface functionality again.
  2. If you have multiple Wi-Fi routers, ensure each has a unique name.
  3. If you have multiple Wi-Fi routers, connect to the closest one with the strongest signal.
