The RSQ 450 series are capable of manoeuvring at a speed of 6 knots as a minimum and
to maintain that speed for a period of at least 4 hours. It is optional to have bigger
engines up to 40HP which will increase the top speed and bollard pull.
Marshalling or towing of life rafts can be done by using the two bollards which are
permanently fitted at the stern of the rescue boat.
It shall be clear that the capacity of the outboard engine depends on the size of the
largest life raft.
In the unfortunate event of capsizing, the RSQ 450 series rescue boat can be up righted
by two persons.
To make this possible, the rescue boat has been provided with a righting rope and
various handgrips on gunwale and bottom. Moreover the rescue boat is fitted with grab
lines at starboard and portside.
The RSQ 450 series rescue boat has been executed with one aft bench and two seats in
the front.
Between the front seats there is a safe and easily accessible area for a person lying on a
stretcher. The aft bench is permanently fitted and fully integrated into the hull
construction. The aft bench offers 2 seats.
Although the rescue boat has adequate sheer, it has been provided with a bow cover to
protect the crew from water spray. Nevertheless, the deck has been provided with a non-
skid surface and the boat is automatically self-bailing.
The RSQ 450 series rescue boat are designed, built and equipped to comply with the

It is also approved according the latest amendments with a person weight of 82.5 kg
each person.
The RSQ 450 series rescue boat meets the latest IMO/SOLAS requirements and LSA Code
(Chapter V, regulation 5.1 Rescue boat
96/98 EC on Marine Equipment (M.E.D.) and U.S. coast guard (U.S.C.G.).
