Usage Features

Control Panel: The control panel features power buttons (On/Off), a programme selection dial, a display, a Start/Pause button, and buttons for temperature, spin speed, time, and optional functions. It also includes an ECONAVI lamp. The operation buttons are capacitive and respond to touch.

Programmes: A wide array of programmes are available, including:

  • Cotton: Daily wash for cotton, linen, and cotton blends.
  • Easy-care: Gentle wash for cotton, linen, and synthetic fibres.
  • Delicates: Gentle wash for synthetic fibre, satin, lace, etc.
  • Bedding: For large items like bed sheets.
  • Wool: Gentle wash for hand and machine washable wool.
  • Silk/Lingerie: Very gentle wash cycle for delicate silk and lingerie.
  • Mixed: Mixed load for various fabrics.
  • Colours: Colour-fast wash for cotton and cotton blend items.
  • Baby-care: Intensive rinse programme for baby clothing.
  • Skin-care: Wash programme for sensitive skin.
  • Shirts: Washing for collar and cuff grime, prevents creasing.

  • Rapid 15: 15 min. full rapid wash for a small amount of lightly soiled items.
  • Memory: Customised programme that memorises the last used setting.

Changing Programme Settings: Users can adjust the water temperature (Cold - 90 °C), spin speed (500 - 1400 r/min for NA-140XR1, 500 - 1600 r/min for NA-168XR1), and set the programme end time (up to 24 hours).

Optional Functions:

  • Select and Run Processes: Allows selection of specific wash, rinse, or spin processes.
  • Saving Time, Saving Energy (Speed/Eco): "Speed" shortens wash time for lightly soiled laundry; "Eco" uses less energy and water but takes longer.
  • Rinse Thoroughly (Extra Rinse): Adds an extra rinse process.
  • Reduce Wrinkles (Easy Iron): Keeps spin speed to 800 r/min or less to reduce wrinkles.
  • Prewash: Adds a prewash option for heavily soiled items.

Appliance Settings:

  • Cancelling the Buzzer: Turns off the end-of-programme buzzer.
  • Child Lock: Locks the door and operation buttons to prevent children from opening the door or changing settings.

Safety Precautions: The manual emphasizes safety, including proper use by children under supervision, avoiding flammable materials, not touching the drum until it stops, correct electrical connection (dedicated socket, no extension leads, undamaged mains lead), and not attempting self-repairs. It also warns against operating with anchor rods fitted, washing clothes with excessive oil stains, and obstructing bottom openings.

Maintenance Features

Detergent Drawer: The detergent drawer should be washed with water regularly to prevent mould build-up. Instructions are provided for adding detergent, water softener, bleach, and stain remover, with specific guidance for prewash and low-foam detergents.

Appliance Exterior: The exterior should be wiped with a soft cloth to remove water or dirt.

Door Seal and Window: Wipe off any lint or foreign objects from the door seal and window.

Drum: Run the "Cotton" programme at 60 °C once a month without anything inside to reduce bacteria and prevent odours. If using a tub cleaning detergent or bleach, add about 30 ml to the detergent compartment.

Water Supply Filter: Clean the water supply filter if water is not supplied properly. This involves turning off the tap, running a "Cotton" programme without laundry/detergent for 1 minute, turning off power, and then removing and cleaning the filter. If the hose has a water supply valve, the filter at the tap end should also be cleaned.

Drain Filter: Remove lint from the drain filter once a month to prevent drainage issues. This involves switching off and unplugging the appliance, opening the drain filter cover, pulling out the funnel, collecting drainage water, and then removing and cleaning the filter.

Emergency Door Opening: Instructions are provided for opening the door in case of a power failure or error, which involves draining water and pulling an emergency unlock tab.
