These conditions can cause the TV to shutdown and the power LED to blink 8 times

SOS8_SS
The SOS circuit monitors two errors types. One is the disconnection between SS board and panel.
Another is the circuit defect detection. if the recovery voltage is this range (36V-157V), it is normal.
If the SOS circuit detects error, the SOS circuit generates the SOS8_SS signal causing the unit
shutdown and the power LED to blink 8 times.
