Overview

This document provides operating instructions for the Panasonic 4-Way Cassette 60 x 60 (Type Y3) air conditioner, including both indoor and outdoor units, as well as multi-split systems.

Function Description

The Panasonic 4-Way Cassette 60 x 60 (Type Y3) is a commercial air conditioner indoor unit designed to provide comfortable room conditions. It incorporates a biocidal product that generates ionized air to deactivate bacteria and viruses in the air and on surfaces, and inhibits mold growth. The active substances are free radicals generated in situ from ambient air or water. The unit is designed for use in shops, light industry, farms, or commercial settings by expert or trained users.

The air conditioner features a nanoe™ X Function for a fresher and cleaner environment. This function generates negative ions to improve air quality, reduce odors, and constrain the propagation of mold and bacteria. The nanoe™ X function operates automatically upon purchase, but can be set to OFF via the remote controller.

An Internal Cleaning Function is activated when cooling or dry operation stops. This function performs internal drying and nanoe™ X circulation airflow to suppress mold proliferation inside the unit (airflow passage, fan, heat exchanger). The duration of this operation is up to 75 minutes. The effectiveness of mold proliferation inhibition may vary depending on the installation environment or operating hours.

Usage Features

  • Remote Controllers: The system supports various optional remote controllers:
    • Wireless Remote Controller (Model No. CZ-RWS3, Receiver Model No. CZ-RWRY3 for Type Y3, CZ-RWRC3 for all indoor units)
    • Timer Remote Controller (Model No. CZ-RTC4)
    • High-spec Wired Remote Controller (Model No. CZ-RTC5B)
    • Wired Remote Controller (Model No. CZ-RTC6 series)
  • Airflow Direction Adjustment: Refer to the Operating Instructions of the remote controller for adjusting airflow. A specific setting is recommended to protect the ceiling from smudges.
  • Energy Saving Tips:
    • Avoid blocking the air intake and outlet.
    • Use sunshades, blinds, or curtains during cooling operation to prevent direct sunlight.
    • Keep the air filter clean.
    • Keep windows, doors, and other openings closed to prevent conditioned air from escaping.
  • Defrosting Operation: The appliance may initiate defrosting to melt frost on the outdoor unit. During defrosting, the indoor unit fan stops or runs at a very slow speed, and "STANDBY" appears on the display. Heating operation resumes after several minutes, with the fan remaining stopped or slow until the indoor heat exchanger warms up.
  • "DRY" Operation: Once the room temperature reaches the set level, the outdoor unit cycles on and off automatically. The fan speed is set to "breeze" (light wind) when the room temperature is close to the set level.
  • Power Failure Recovery: The unit automatically resumes operation with previous settings after a power failure.

Maintenance Features

  • Safety Precautions: Always turn off and disconnect power before cleaning or servicing. Do not pour water on the indoor unit.
  • Cleaning:
    • Indoor Unit: Wipe with a soft cloth; if very dirty, use a cloth moistened with water. Avoid solvents, harsh chemicals, very hot water, and be careful of sharp metal edges/fins. Use a firm stool or ladder for high-mounted units.
    • Outdoor Unit: The internal coil and other components should be cleaned periodically by a dealer or service center.
  • Air Filter Maintenance: Consult your dealer or service center when the "Filter" indicator appears on the wired remote controller display.
  • Professional Servicing: Internal cleaning of indoor and outdoor units should only be performed by authorized dealers or specialists. In case of malfunction, do not attempt repairs yourself; contact the sales or service dealer.
  • Product Information: For support, have the Model No., Serial No., Date of purchase, Dealer's address, and Phone number ready, as found on the nameplate.
  • Refrigerant Type: Confirm with an authorized dealer or specialist the specified refrigerant type (R32) for usage. Using other refrigerants can cause product damage, burst, and injury.
  • Grounding: Each unit must be properly grounded.
  • Power Mains: Turn the power mains on 5 hours before starting operation for warm-up. Leave the power mains ON for continuous use. Disconnect power when not in use for a long time.
