Do you have a question about the Panda Vending Cut ur Prize and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Cut ur Prize (TR1103) is an indoor prize machine designed for entertainment. Its primary function is to allow players to win prizes by manipulating a crane mechanism. The machine is simple to play and features a brilliant cabinet design constructed from high-quality materials.

Function Description

The core function of the Cut ur Prize machine revolves around a game where players attempt to win prizes. The game begins when a player inserts a coin into the coin selector or cash into the cash acceptor. Once the game starts, the player uses a right direction button to move scissors to the right, aiming to position them near a hanging prize loop. The player then moves the scissors in the direction of the loops. When the scissors reach the loop, a button is pressed to loosen the grip, and the goal is to cut off the loop to obtain the prize.

The machine operates in two main play modes: free play and coin play. In free play mode, no coin is required to start the game; after pressing the reset button, the machine continuously remains in play mode. In coin play mode, the machine can be in one of four states: Attract Mode, Test Mode, Game Play Mode, or Error Mode.

  • Attract Mode: In this mode, the LEDs on the console display continuously change, accompanied by music. Pressing the "TEST" button for over 300 milliseconds transitions the machine into Test Mode. Inserting a coin from Attract Mode will start Game Play Mode.
  • Game Play Mode: Once the game begins, the TIME and CREDIT LEDs on the console display the remaining time and credit for the player. Music also plays during this mode.
  • Test Mode: This mode allows for checking the functionality of various components. It verifies the condition of the LEDs, lights, claw carriage, and music. When in Attract Mode, pressing the "TEST" button stops the music and enters Test Mode. The LED display shows the software version, then all LEDs turn off, then all turn on, followed by testing input, output, and finally music.
  • Error Mode: If an error occurs during gameplay, the system enters Error Mode. An error code, "EX," is displayed, and an alarm is activated. The error codes indicate specific problems, such as coins getting stuck, prize output abnormalities, chip errors, waving alarms, crane back home abnormalities, or scissors open abnormalities.

The machine also includes a prize location adjustment procedure. In Attract Mode, pressing the SERVICE button enters this adjustment mode. The crane moves to location A1, and the A1 LED illuminates. If an error occurs during this adjustment, pressing the TEST button moves the crane to the horizontal position, and the LED display "1-- A1" indicates a prize at the horizontal position. The back button moves the crane left, and the right button moves it right. Pressing the TEST button again enters the upright position adjustment, indicated by "1||" on the LED display. The back and right buttons move the crane. The SERVICE button changes the prize position through ordinal serials A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. In C2 mode, pressing the SERVICE button exits the position adjustment mode.

Usage Features

The Cut ur Prize machine offers several features designed to enhance its usability and ensure proper operation:

  • Coin and Cash Acceptance: The machine accepts both coins via a coin selector and cash via a cash acceptor to initiate gameplay.
  • Directional Control: Players use a right direction button to control the movement of the scissors, allowing for precise positioning over prizes.
  • Prize Mechanism: The game involves a specific sequence of moving scissors, reaching a loop, and then loosening the grip to obtain a prize.
  • Display Indicators: The CREDIT display board shows the coin quantity. LEDs indicate various states, such as the button flashing when a coin is inserted, or when the crane moves.
  • Coin Return: The machine has a dedicated red entrance for returning coins if unsuitable coins are inserted.
  • Volume Control: The J11 connector allows for adjusting the voice volume of the machine.
  • DIP Switch Settings: The machine's behavior can be customized using DIP switches. These settings control various parameters, including:
    • Game Start Requirement: Whether coins are needed to start the game or if it's free play.
    • Coins Per Game: The number of coins required for one game (e.g., 4, 3, 2, or 1 coin).
    • Parameter Saving: Whether parameters are saved when power is off or cleared.
    • Music Control: Whether music is on or off in Attract Mode.
    • Game Play Time: The duration of each game (e.g., 60, 50, 40, or 30 seconds).
    • Crane Brake Distance: The distance the crane brakes (e.g., 20, 15, 10, or 5 units).
    • Prize Output Ratios (A, B, C prizes): The frequency at which prizes are awarded (e.g., 1 prize A out of 999 games, 1 prize B out of 800 games, 1 prize C out of 600 games, down to 1 prize out of 20 games). These settings are crucial for game balancing and profitability.

Maintenance Features

The manual outlines several maintenance features and safety instructions to ensure the longevity and safe operation of the Cut ur Prize machine:

  • Safety Instructions:
    • The machine is for indoor use only.
    • It must be placed on a steady, even floor after installation to prevent vibration or instability.
    • Users are warned against disassembling, modifying, or moving the machine arbitrarily.
    • The power should always be switched off, and the plug pulled out before moving the machine.
    • Avoid placing the machine near high temperatures or sparkling equipment.
    • Do not place sundries on the machine or allow heavy objects to press the power wire.
    • The circuit parts should not be exposed to the air.
  • Operational Checks:
    • Before switching on, check the power plug and wire, and ensure the voltage is suitable for the machine.
    • The power supply voltage must match the voltage specified on the back cover.
    • Power must be switched off before any maintenance or inspection.
    • Only qualified personnel are permitted to inspect the electric control device.
    • Use suitable accessories for replacing parts.
    • Always hold the plug, not the wire, when unplugging the power cord.
    • Avoid plugging or unplugging with wet hands, or pulling/twisting the power wire.
  • Reset and Test Functions:
    • The "Reset button" can be pressed for 3 seconds to clear all data.
    • The "Service button" is used to clear machine problems and adjust the crane.
    • The "Test button" allows entry into the test state from attraction mode, enabling checks of various components.
  • Error Code Diagnostics: In case of an error, the machine displays an error code ("EX") and activates an alarm. The manual provides an "ERROR TABLE" listing specific error codes (E1 to E6) and their corresponding problems, such as "Coins Get Stuck In The Coin Mechanism," "Prize Out Abnormal," "Chip U12 – Error," "Waving alarm," "Crane back home abnormal," and "Scissors open abnormal." This allows for quick diagnosis and troubleshooting. After clearing an error, the game should be reset, and the machine restarted.
  • Hanging Prize System Adjustment: The hanging prize system may require adjustment after transport or moving. The manual instructs users to follow practical circumstances for these adjustments. It also notes that some location adjustments should not be made when the down tube slot is without hanging anything. A machine reset is required after adjusting DIP switches or locations. The machine should be adjusted once a week, and all prize test sensors should be checked for normal operation.
  • Internal Component Details: The manual provides a detailed breakdown of internal components and their connections, including the Meter Board and Main Board.
    • Meter Board: Tracks coin quantity, prize output quantity for A, B, and C prizes, and includes the service and reset buttons.
    • Main Board: Contains connectors for power input (J1), LED input (J4), ticket vending machine (J5), and various functions (J6). It also includes the Promt IC for collecting coin and ticket quantity, and connectors for volume adjustment (J11) and speaker (J12).
  • Wiring Information: Detailed pin codes, pin colors, functions, and I/O codes are provided for various connectors (J1, J4, J5, J6, J8, J10, J11, J12, InCON1, InCON2, OutCON1, OutCON2), which is essential for troubleshooting and maintenance. This includes connections for power, LEDs, ticket vending, coin signals, test and reset buttons, various sensors (front/back meter QTY, control buttons, direction sensors, scissors open/close), motor controls (front, back, left, right, scissors), and prize meters (A, B, C).
