Regular maintenance is crucial for extending the machine's lifespan:

  • Cleaning the Cabinet: The surface can be cleaned with diluted non-abrasive neutral detergents. Avoid sharp items, formic acid, and its diluted solvents.
  • Cleaning the Internal Drum: Rust from metal articles can be removed with chlorine-free detergents. Do not use steel wool.
  • Cleaning the Detergent Box and Grooves: The detergent drawer can be removed by pressing down on the arrow on the softener cover, lifting the clip, and pulling out the softener cover. All grooves should be washed with water.
  • Cleaning the Inlet Filter: The tap filter and the filter at the back of the washing machine should be cleaned periodically. This involves closing the tap, running a short procedure, removing the inlet pipe, and washing the filter with water.
  • Cleaning the Drain Pump Filter: The drain pump filter collects yarns and foreign matters and should be inspected and cleaned regularly, especially if the machine doesn't empty/spin or makes unusual noises. The process involves opening the lower cover cap, rotating and pulling out the emergency drain hose, draining water, removing the hose cap, opening the filter by turning counter-clockwise, removing extraneous matter, and closing the filter and cap.
  • Anti-freeze: If the machine is in a room prone to freezing, drain remaining water from the drain pipe and inlet pipe. This involves closing the tap, unscrewing the inlet pipe, and running any procedure except "Wash" or "Drain" for about 40 seconds to drain water from the inlet pipe.
  • Emergency Door Release: In case of power failure or if the door cannot be opened, a pull cord inside the emergency door can be used to open it. It is recommended to wait until the water has cooled to avoid burns.
