Overview

The Paragon Lock & Safe 7501 Electronic 5 Gun Rifle Safe is a secure storage solution designed for firearms and other valuables, offering both digital and key-based access. This safe is constructed from heavy-duty 18-gauge steel with a powder-coated finish, ensuring durability and resistance to forced entry. The design incorporates concealed hinges for enhanced anti-theft protection and a robust internal mechanism.

Function Description:

The primary function of the 7501 safe is to provide secure storage for up to five rifles, along with ammunition and handguns. It features an electronic lock that can be programmed with a user-defined PIN code (3-6 digits long), offering quick and convenient access. In case of electronic failure or forgotten codes, two override keys are provided for emergency access. The safe also includes an interior locking cabinet with a separate set of keys, allowing for additional secure storage of smaller items or ammunition. The combination can be changed an infinite number of times by the user, providing flexibility and enhanced security.

Usage Features:

  • Digital Entry: Eliminates the need for multiple key copies. The electronic lock accepts a 3-6 digit PIN code.
  • Override Keys: Two FREE keys are included for emergency access if the PIN code is forgotten or batteries fail.
  • Easy Code Programming: The user code can be set or changed easily by pressing a red button inside the door, entering the new code, and then pressing "*" or "#".
  • Manager Passcode: The safe supports two passcodes (user and manager). The manager passcode can be set by pressing "0" twice, then the red button, entering the new code, and pressing "*" or "#". Entering a third code will erase the first one.
  • Opening the Safe: Input the code, press "#", and turn the knob clockwise within 5 seconds.
  • Closing the Safe: Turn the knob counter-clockwise, and the mechanism will automatically lock.
  • Battery Indicators: Red and green lights illuminate simultaneously when the safe is open to indicate low battery.
  • Incorrect Code Lockout: Entering an incorrect code three times will lock the system for 20 seconds.
  • Anchoring: Pre-drilled holes are provided for anchoring the safe to the floor using fixing bolts (included). This is a critical safety feature to prevent the safe from toppling over, especially if placed on carpet or an uneven surface. Lag bolts are recommended for wood floors (at least 2 inches long), and concrete sleeve anchors (at least 2 inches long) for concrete floors.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Replacement: The safe operates on 4 AA alkaline batteries, which can be easily replaced by removing the battery cover plate on the inside of the outer door. The low battery indicator (red and green lights on simultaneously) signals when replacement is needed.
  • Key Management: Two separate sets of keys are provided: one for the exterior door and one for the interior locking cabinet. It is crucial NOT to store the keys inside the safe to ensure access in case of electronic lock failure.
  • Carpet Mat: A grey carpet mat padding is provided on the inside bottom to protect stored items.
  • Anchoring Check: After installing anchor bolts, it is recommended to carefully open and close the safe door to ensure smooth operation of the locking mechanism. If resistance is encountered, check if the safe is level.
