of sophiscated manufacture and processing technology.
Such phenomena do not diminish the value and the usability of the
awning. To prevent irritaon, we would like to expressly point out the
following properes, within the scope of consumer awareness:
Bending folds
They originate at the moment of the manu-
facture and when the sun protecon fabric is
folded. A dark line, which originates because
of the folding of the bre, may become visible
in back light parcularly in case of bright
colours (Light refracon). (Img. 1)
Waviness in the seam and length area
It can occur in the side seams, in the vicinity of the seams and in the
centre of the lengths. The cover is laid double on the seams. This
results in dierent rolling diameters.
The tension that arises due to the folding arms and the drooping of
the roller tube and/or the front prole may enhance these eects.
Waviness can originate if a water pocket forms during heavy rain.
(Img. 2,3)
Stretching of the side lengths
The cover is usually kept permanently taut by means of an acve
spring system. Seams and hems have a reinforcing eect but must
also undergo the most strain. When the cover is rolled up the hems
and seams lay on top of one another, this increases the pressure and
tension even more. Seams and hems are pressed at and increase in
length. When the awning is moved out this can lead to the side seams
hanging down slightly. (Img. 4)
Waterproofness/resistance to rain
Polyester fabric is coated with a water-resistant nish and remains
resistant to rain during a short, light shower of rain with good care
and a pitch angle of at least 14°. During longer periods and/or heavy
rainfall the awning must remain closed or rolled up in order to avoid
damage. Should the cover have become wet the awning must be ex-
tended for drying later, in order to avoid the formaon of mould stain.
Further informaon about the properes of awning covers as well
as the most important state-of-the-art cases of applicaon is to be
found in the guidelines for evaluaon of ready-made awning fabrics -

collecon and disposal of used baeries and
accumulators of the 27th March 1998 (BGBl. I

nal consumer, he is legally obligated to return
used baeries. Baeries or accumulators can
